A Very Rurka Christmas in Savannah

Warning: There are A LOT of pictures in this post.  Enjoy!

We went to Gram and Gramps' house in Savannah for Christmas this year.  As always, we had a great time and it was nice to spend time with family before Brett deploys.

Upon arriving at Gram and Gramps' house, Gavin immediately ran to admire their Christmas tree which is decorated with tons of vehicles - boats, planes, cars - and topped with a bi-plane!

We had beautiful weather on Christmas Eve so we took the boys into the courtyard and later to a local park.

Gavin is such a little monkey.  He finds his way into everything!ImageImage

The boys were excited to have Santa visit.  After all, they were both on the 'nice' list this year!

Gram prepared milk and cookies for Gavin to leave for Santa.  It was so cute to watch him walk the cookies and place them next to the tree.  He even left a carrot for the reindeer on the front porch!

After the boys had gone to bed Santa's elves worked diligently to put all of the presents under the tree.  We were so excited to wake up with the boys in the morning ... but for the moment, all was calm in the house!

The next morning the boys woke up and Gavin went to the table and saw that the milk and cookies were gone!

Then it was time to open presents!

Later Gavin was put in timeout and Andrew sat with him to keep him company.  Andrew says, "It's okay big brother.  I'm always here for you!"

Later Christmas day, we went to 3D Avatar sans kids.  The special effects were amazing but we have mixed feelings about the movie!

Gavin fell asleep in Brett's arms.  Too cute although I'm sure he was burning up in that coat!

We came home on Saturday and had more presents to open.  The boys must have been very nice this year - we are still finding hidden presents around the house to give to the boys!

The following pictures of Gavin and Gramps remind me a lot of eachother.  The first is from Christmas 2008 and the other is from this past Christmas.

We hope you all had as merry a Christmas as we did!
