If you're in Seattle tonight, come by Vermillion (map) for a Friends of the Nib show. Enjoy art, drinks and good company.
Here's the flyer for the show:

...and then Friday night is another FotN show!
This time at our regular haunt, Cafe Racer (map), we'll be showing some Valentines Day pieces. Come on by and maybe find a delightful gift for that special someone.( Mine looks like this:Collapse )
The art for sale will be from our upcoming deck of Friends of the Nib playing cards, as well as a bunch of other stuff that we've framed and hung.
( Hey! There's arts under here!Collapse )Here's the flyer for the show:

Since the weekend's over, and it's been announced elsewhere, I want to let you all know that the Friends of the Nib exhibit at the Howard House has been extended through the end of the month! As such, the pieces that have been sold aren't going home with their owners until the show's over, so you still have time to visit. Heck, the art there is so swell and affordable, you may find a Christmas present or two!
I'll fight the urge to use caps-lock, but I am super impressed by and terribly proud of our gang of artsy fartsy ne'er-do-wells.

Last night's show was absolutely amazing. I had a ton of fun and am still riding the high I got from the whole evening filled with incredible art by incredible people, and a gallery with constant foot traffic from before I arrived until probably 9:00! Or maybe it was Jon's markers. But those were great too!
I hope some nibsters post photos as I didn't have my camera. (And if they do, I'll be sure to steal them for the benefit of all.) I am simply envious of the pieces that people turned in. I knew they were a talented bunch, but I had no idea that these people next to whom I sit and eat cheese sandwiches every Wednesday could create such gorgeous stuff. Well done, the Friendsa! And it is on that not that I post another map of the Howard House downtown.
Also, watch this space as we proceed to scan some of the things we drew during the evening.

Just another reminder, since everyone on my freindslist is doing it, that this is tonight!
The gang turned out, like, 400 pieces and I hear that the Howard house wants us to keep adding to the walls during the course of the show. For fun and profit, here's another couple of the pieces that I made.

I'll be there tonight with a bunch of the rest of the F's.

I told my twitter and my facebox, but I forgot to tell you!
On page 18 of the current Stranger you can see an ad that I was commissioned to put together. Josh, who works for the Underground Events Center, found me through the Friends o' th' Nib and was a delightful guy to work with. Super enthusiastic and very thoughtful in his editorial feedback. The poster's here, and below is a photo that Amber snapped on her robophone.

And if you close the Stranger, you can make the Flea make out with Morrissey on page 19.
