updates, info & taylor rae

I know...I have not been informative enough lately. Ever since I found out I was pregnant all I have wanted to do is sit around. I am so tired, sick, and extremely unmotivated. Blogging has been one of those things I just don't want to do, sewing too. I am taking a much needed break and not doing anything until the new year. I FINALLY finished 3 custom orders I had this last month and now I am done for awhile. I really don't know how I am going to do it with 2 kids.

So for some updates! I went to the doctor today and here is our baby!

Image
{baby #2: 10 1/2 weeks}

I can't believe we are pregnant again. I feel like I just got my body back only to just have it change all over again. I am super excited and it will be fun to have our first 2 so close in age. I am 10 1/2 weeks along and my due date is July 14th. Although it will probably be a week before that because I will be scheduling a C-section a week early. Things are looking great with the baby. You can see the umbilical cord, the legs at the top and a little stub arm coming out by the face. Great pic, I thought. I am glad things are already looking good for the baby, and I can't wait until this sickness passes. So far everything with this baby is opposite than Taylor.

Taylor
*morning sickness, always threw up
*loved to drink diet coke
*would still eat sweets

vs.

Baby #2
*morning sickness all day long...only throw up sometimes
*can't stand diet coke
*crave all salt...no sweets(unless it is cake or a yummy dessert)

We are still living in my in-laws house with them and are starting to look for places to live anywhere between SLC and Ogden. Although I am ruling Ogden out...we drove around one day and I really did not like the feel. But Eric still works up there and will try to do graduate school at the U so we need an in between. Either way, he will be driving. As of right now we can't decide if we should buy or rent. Yes the time is great to buy, but being renters for 7 years, it is a little scary. Plus if we buy that could take awhile, whereas renting will just be a stepping stone to the buying. We don't know. We enjoy being up here in Park City and Eric's parents are great to live with. Taylor is really enjoying getting to know them and I think likes having more people around. We will keep you posted on our major life decsions! What to do?:)

And....Taylor Rae. Changing and growing everyday. Still has crazy hair...can't do anything with it and loves to go all over the house. We have to watch her because there are so many things she can get into. She loves to go up and down the stairs but is not quite ready to be on her own.

Here she is helping with the laundry!

Image
{she has now learning to pull her self up on things and walk along the edge. She is getting practice on those legs for walking}

And here she is having a sugar cookie and Grandma & Grandpa C's house.

Image
{Taylor wants to be a big girl when she eats, which makes for messy feeding times, she has to do it herself}

There is it, an update of life in the Sutterfield home! Now it is time to relax and enjoy the Christmas Season with family!

return home

Last week Eric's parents returned home from their mission. We surprised them at the airport with the WHOLE family! It was fun to see them again and have the family all together. They looked exactly the same and hadn't changed a bit. We then went back to the house and had dinner and just hung out. Taylor loved having everyone around and was excited to see her cousins.

Image

We now have roommates and things are great. Eric's parents are very easy to get along with. Taylor has especially taken a liking to Grandpa Phil. She loves to crawl into the office and say hi and sit on his lap. It is fun for Taylor to get to know her grandparents.

Image

As for an update on us...we are looking for places to live. We don't want to rush into anything so we are taking our time. We are thankful Phil and Connie don't mind us staying with them for awhile. I know they enjoy hanging out with taylor, otherwise I think if it were just eric and I, they might be pushing to get us out!:)

christmas tag

Image

**I am too lazy to go and get my camera and upload pictures for a post...so I will do this in the meantime...thanks brit***

1. wrapping paper or gift bags? it depends on the year...one year I did all bags...then all decorated boxes...and then sometimes wrapping paper(i am not very good at wrapping).

2. real tree or artificial? grew up with a real tree every Christmas and loved it...my family always choose the not so full trees and sometimes a little odd looking(but liked them)...when we FINALLY get settled in a place of our own I think I will go artificial for the convenience.

3. when do you put up your tree? I decorated my in-laws house for them, and although I did not put up their gigantic tree, I did put up a little one...the week before thanksgiving, so we could travel and have it ready for when they came home!

4. when do you take it down?if I ever decorate in our own place I think it would be around New Years.

5. do you like eggnog?used to hate it, but have now grown to like it

6. favorite gift received as a child? blow up bouncy car..only because my mom said I loved it...I always enjoyed new clothes at Christmas time...oh and I remember getting the bikes and the ski's...those were great.

7. worst christmas gift ever received? can't really say

8. hardest person to buy for? my dad

9. easiest person to buy for? taylor

10. do you have a nativity scene?pieces...my sister gave me part of the Willow Tree set and I plan to buy the rest...someday.

11. mail or email christmas cards? mail. it is always fun to get something in the mail, and a picture is a must...

12. favorite christmas movie? National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

13. when do you start christmas shopping? 2 weeks before. I am a procrastinator and just can't ever think of what to get people until crunch time.

14. have you ever recycled a christmas present? no.

15. favorite thing to eat at christmas?homemade goodies from the neighbors(because I can't bake), mom's traditional lasanga dinner

16. lights on the tree? of course...who doesn't?

17. favorite christmas song? can't name one...I enjoy listening to the old style christmas songs.

18. travel or stay home?we've have always been around family so we have stayed home.

19. can you name all of santa's reindeer? yes, but don't want to

20. angel or star?star

21. open presents christmas morning or eve? As said by my sister..."never on Christmas Eve. We reserve that night to remember the true meaning of Christmas and have a program where we read multiple stories and scriptures about the Savoir's birth. And then Christmas morning, we only open stockings, then we go to brunch and return around noon to open presents. So, we really don't open gifts on Christmas morning or Christmas Eve."

22. favorite ornament theme or color? haven't ever decorated a tree so haven't ever thought about it.

23. favorite place for christmas dinner? parents

24. most annoying thing about this time of year?people everywhere

25. what do you want for christmas this year? we decided to not do anything for Christmas and to just spoil Tay. But if you must know, my list is long because soon I will have to find all my own sewing stuff when we move to keep my business going...so anything sewing related is on my list.

Tag....you!

we're off

Image

So you probably thought we were already away on vacation or something, due to my lack of blogging. But we haven't gone anywhere...I have just been lazy, too busy doing other things, and just never sat down to post. And now we are off to Vegas with my family to spend Thanksgiving. We are SO excited to get away...it has been a long time since we have gone anywhere and it will be fun just relaxing and hanging out with family. Taylor and Jack have not seen each other for months and Taylor can do so much now that Jack and her will have a blast.

This is what we plan on doing:

*eating out for our feast at Ritz Carlton at Lake Las Vegas
*maybe seeing Twlight(yes I didn't rush out the midnight shows...never been that big of a fan)
*golfing for the boys
*lounging around
*shopping for the ladies
*lots of play time for the kids
*maybe some swimming at the hotel
*eating at In 'n' Out and Capriotti's (our favorites)
*and what ever else we think of, basically just some good family time

And being the holiday of thanks I have to share some of the things I am grateful for:

*my husband, best friend, and partner
*our sweet girl, taylor
*my supportive family
*my great in-laws
*a beautiful place to live in
*the Lord
*my faith
*my health
*the chance to be a stay at home mom
*friends near and far
*my education

There are so many more things I am thankful for, but my list could go on forever. We will be back next week and start preparing for the arrival of Connie and Phil! We are very excited for them to come home(but that means we have to give the house back:( but we are more excited for them to meet Taylor...we just know they are going to love her.

Until then...Happy Thanksgiving and travel safe!

something to blog about

I have found myself so busy lately that I don't really care, or have the time to blog. My sister-in-law informed me that I haven't been updating my blog and that I need to. I sat down to the computer to blog and drew blanks about what to blog about. I feel like it has been all about Taylor lately(which doesn't bother me) but thought the readers of this blog might be getting bored with my Taylor tributes.

So I needed something to blog about...

And I came up with....

NOTHING!

I don't have any creative juices flowing. I blogged surf to see what everyone else was blogging about and nothing excited me. Don't worry all your blogs are fun to read and I enjoy it. Just nothing seem to get ME excited to blog about.

So now you are getting....

Taylor!

I wish I had something fun to share with you about where our family went...or what fun thing we did the other day, but like I said, I have been busy. With many custom orders, preparation for the holiday shows, getting the house ready for my in-laws(coming on dec. 2!!!), and of course my #1 job...hanging out with taylor, we just haven't done much. But tonight we are going to Disney On Ice...thanks to this friend. This is pretty eventful for us and we hope taylor enjoys it.

Back to Taylor.

I mentioned before that she finally learned to crawl, the real way, and now she is all over the place. I took this video of her awhile ago. It was at night so sorry for the horrible picture. She had just begun crawling so you can tell she is a little slow.

Also, like I said, Taylor is all over now that she figured out she can go places faster, and one place she ends up are the stairs. She climbed up the whole flight of stairs the other day(hasn't done it since...but she did it, right?) and it is not a small stair case.

Image
{here i go}

Image
{look at that bum}

Image
{she got a little frustrated half way up...it was a long way}

And just for fun...another video. She is doing her animals sounds...the first one right off is a cow. She just said "moo!"

Of course it is Taylor. This was in Vegas, visiting the P*. She is about 5 months old and we were just playing photo shoot with the kids. Look how little...and bald:)

just me and my girl

Image

I wish this was how taylor and I look and feel right now, but we both had the flu this weekend and it seems taylor has got is again! Poor girl. I feel so bad she has to go through it. I hate being sick at my age, it can't be fun for her. Luckily she sleeps it off! I love our good little sleeper. She has barely eaten anything all weekend. We just keep pumping her with liquids as best we can.

Image

Soon, when we are feeling better I will take her swimming! Yes...I know the pools are closed, but I want to take her to the indoor pool at my parents house. I only took her once this summer so I feel she needs some swimming fun!

Image

until then...we are staying inside and hoping Eric stears clear of the bug.

{unfortunately Taylor is sick--thrown up 3 times-- and we will be staying in! We celebrated last weekend at a Halloween Party so she got to wear her cosutme...which I didn't pay a penny for, just threw it all together with things around the house...yes!!!}

big girl post

Taylor is officially becoming a big girl. Not only does she love to eat, but now she wants to feed herself...and gets very frustrated when she can't hold the whole piece of bread, or hold the cup full of applesauce. It is nice that she is starting to do it herself, but if you know Taylor, you know you have to monitor her eating, otherwise that whole piece of bread will be in her mouth the minute you look away. Let's just say she has a hard time slowing it down when she eats.

Image
She does a pretty good job!

Image

Image

Also on her big girl list....she crawls!Well she has been doing the army crawl for awhile now and gets around pretty good, but she tried the "normal" way of crawling and is getting better and better at it. It is fun to see her try it a different way.

I tried to catch some pictures of her and I ended up chasing her around snapping left and right, and this is the best I could come up with. She is in the stance and went about 10 paces from there.

Image

BIG GIRL!!

24 October 2008

mark your calendars...again!

That's right! I am doing the Oh Sweet Sadie Art and Gift Show, AGAIN! It was such a success in September that I thought I would do the Holiday Shows. I wasn't planning on it, but they put on a really great show and my products sold great.

So if you missed the last one, come and see me again this November. The show is going to be in Bountiful for the first time! So all you people up North are in for a treat.

Spread the news and come get some great Christmas gifts!

I am not a baker

I have tried, and tried.

But when it comes to baking cookies,
bread, rolls, cakes, I am HORRIBLE!

I have baked many cookies from
scratch and they turn out disgusting.

I have tried making homemade
rolls several times now, and...gross!

I tried to make Taylor and Eric's birthday cakes
(and I used store bought cakes)
and they just didn't turn out.
I don't think I have the patience.
I like to hurry and get to the end product.

ImageImage

I CAN'T BAKE!!!

Maybe it is a good thing seeing how
I would eat all of the baked goods if they
were lying around the house. There are some
things I can do. But I think
I will just stick to the store bought
cookies, rolls and cakes because...

I Give Up!

to my best friend, husband and "the man":)

Image
{you always make me laugh}
Dear Eric,

Thank you for choosing me! I am lucky to have you in my life and so is Taylor. You have made me laugh almost everyday with your jingles, funny comments, and sense of humor. I love watching you interact with Taylor and how you try to teach her as much as you can in one play time! She gets so excited when she sees you and loves when you come home.

I want you to know that I am happy I choose you for a friend, husband and father of our kids. I couldn't have done a better job. You are such a hard worker and have earned everything you have ever worked for. Thank you for going out, day after day to work so I can stay home with Taylor. I appreciate the work you do and the effort you put forth at home. You know what makes me happy and I really love when you help out after a long day at work.

Happy Birthday! I hope you enjoyed your day off with taylor and I, and we sure had fun hanging out with you. It is always nice when you have time off to play. I love you and taylor loves you!

Love, your wife, best friend, and "women"

Taylor and I have been enjoying the perfect fall weather up here. We have spent days at the park and in the backyard. It is perfect "sweater weather!" I love it! Taylor let me snap some pics of her, but it has become more difficult because she is on the move. Before she used to just sit there...now I have to chase her down. Plus she wanted to put EVERYTHING in her mouth!

Enjoy!

blow outs, throw ups, & check ups

Image

I have washed Taylor's sheets and pajamas
3
times in the last
4
days.
I don't know what seems to be the problem
but every morning I go to get her she has
had a huge blow out(I think it is the apple juice causing
the really wet diarrhea to
hoot right up the back...sorry for the details).
It is all over her sheets and pajamas and
I have to stripe her down and have now taken
3
baths.

ImageImage

Plus, this morning when I went to get her
she had thrown up all over!
What?
Poor girl has had a rough couple of days.
She isn't acting sick and I took her temperature and all is fine.
She is eating a little less(starting to be picky), but seems fine,
just super sleepy. We went to the doctors for her
12
month appointment.
Image

The doc didn't notice anything wrong. As for everything else
she is a happy, healthy baby, and get this she is now in the
65%
for her weight. It has dropped!(used to be 75%).
All that moving around(which she is all over the place now),
has thinned her out. Taylor is still tall(95%) and has a
perfect head(90%). Thanks to my c-section. She had
3 shots
and
1
toe prick.

My big girl did a good job!

Now she is waking up and let's just hope there is
no blow out or throw up! Her room is starting to stink!
