Name:
literate packrat
Location:
New Hampshire, United States
Bullet points: one husband1, oodles of nieces & nephews & other assorted family members, multiple best friends, several thousand books, silence punctuated by laughter, infinite curiosity, procrastination, distraction, a packrat nature, and a Farscape obsession; addicted to coca-cola, semicolons, and the internet. Sojourned in the Desert Southwest, the Pacific Northwest, and the Midwest, but New England is home, where flights of fancy are counter-balanced by the financial spreadsheets of higher education administration.

Immediate family runs from evangelical Christian to active Wiccan, raving right-wing to flaming liberal; tolerance and understanding are thus Important Components of my life. (This does not, however, mean that I have no strong opinions of my own: I can be downright pigheaded.) I believe faith is personal, not institutional. I strive -- sometimes less successfully than others -- for moderation in my politics, generally leaning in the opposite direction to whichever political party is in power. On a more practical level, I prefer Macintosh to Windows, dogs to cats, standard transmission over automatic, and hardcovers rather than paperbacks. Most other stuff is open to discussion.

I consider my friends list to be a reading list -- and yes, I do read, even when I don't comment. Add me to/delete me from your own reading list, whichever option is appropriate for your own use. I promise not to take it personally. ;-)

1 For those of you who know Jerry: he goes by "Fred" in this journal. (It's a long story.)
