My students are adorable
They really are. Today was one of those days when I just love my job.
Two of the other English teachers are going to have a baby. One little girl in my class asked if the baby would be Japanese. I said no, the parents need to be Japanese to have a Japanese baby. Their baby will be white. Her face went all wrinkled up and she said, "ooooh. Poor baby." It was so cute!
Then, one of my boys asked if I had a baby, would it be Japanese (they know my husband is from Japan). I said half. Naturally, the response was "What half?"
It reminds me of when one of the teachers went on mat leave a few years ago. One of the students signed her card with "I hope it's a boy or a girl." She burst out laughing when she read it: "God. Me too!"
