Thankful Tree

Image We started a new November tradition this year--one that is definitely a keeper. Meet the "Thankful Tree." We introduced it with an FHE on gratitude. Then, at dinner each night we discuss what we're thankful for, write it on a leaf, and stick it up. It's produced lots of really funny and surprisingly deep dinner conversations. I love how it directs our thoughts, during all the early holiday bustle, to the sometimes-neglected Thanksgiving holiday. I love reflecting on my blessings the entire month. That is truly a way to celebrate!
Image I can't resist sharing a few of my favorites from the girls -
Anna: friends, plants, family, ponies, food, the earth, money
Sophia: Golden Girl {stuffed unicorn}, animals, "I love Mom", fields, flowers, diamonds
Clara: crib, blankie, cousins, Surf Dog {special lovey}, cats, dogs, and BABIES

Note: I posted here about another November tradition we have. There's a lot of Christmas music out there right now {which I love!} but this highlights Thanksgiving. The words of my favorite song on the CD, "Simple Gifts", go through my mind all month and fills me with gratitude for the simple blessings in my life.

All I Want for Christmas

Faux Birthdays

Am I the only mom out there who is throwing party after party for . . . stuffed animals? Don't get me wrong, it's awfully fun and the girls do most the work {wrapping presents, coming up with games, mini-picnics}. But when a particular lovey {Golden Girl} celebrates her third birthday a week, I'm a little partied out!
