WAKE UP
Image

You've made it.

The moment Vriska's heart stops, Hal smiles. It happens in the space of a blink and both living and dead will find themselves in a circular, white room. Around the walls there are 42 plain white beds, tidily made with white bedsheets. Around the walls hangs a bunch of fairy lights, filling the room with a warm glow.

And in each bed, there's a lovingly crafted little plush doll.

Each character will have a plush of them, with adorable little button eyes and yarn hair, resting in a bed, marking it as theirs.

And in the center of the room, there's Hal -- or Pal -- or one of the Chiefs (those who were dead will recognize him), standing next to a table with mugs of warm milk and sleep masks. Next to him, as well, is a standing lamp.

He smiles.

"That was a close one but, somehow, you all squeaked by. Hit the win condition by two whole people."

He holds up the two fingers in demonstration, and then shrugs.

"So now you can wake up. Once everyone's in bed, once you're settled, I'll turn out the lights. Whether you remember this or not... eh, it's up to you. Some people never remember their dreams, some people only remember their nightmares. Which one are you?""

With that, it seems he's content to leave them to it. Looks like it's time to say goodbye.

EXECUTION
Image

It's... quiet. The morning is quiet and dull and even the animals rustling in the jungle or skittering on the beach seem a bit at a loss for what to do. The beach as a whole seems to be waiting. It'll soon be obvious what-for.

At this point, the Chiefs have pretty much given up on the whole pit roasting aesthetic and just let whoever's gonna die do their own thing. But they'll show up at the appointed time and Hal glances over at the few stray seagulls perched on trees, watching with beady, greedy eyes before looking to the huts. Then he calls out, louder than naturally possible,

"Execution time, folks! Magilou and Bellamy have been chosen as executioners. Come on down and watch."

And then, as indifferent as ever, he steps to the side and waits.

TRIAL
Image

In the morning, the beach comes back to life. Birds are back to cawing, the fish splash in the ocean, and insects buzz cheerfully from the jungle. Crabs skitter across the sand and seagulls fight over food (possibly yours). It's a frightening contrast to the stillness of yesterday but it doesn't mean it's over yet. After all, today is the trial.

The Chief stands at the front of the longhouse and brings his hand up to his mouth to let out a whistle. He'll thumb back to the hut-like building behind him and very clearly state --

"Trial time, everyone. Get in here and figure out who did it."

And then he'll turn to head in. The other Chief helpfully pipes up with a, "Make sure to bring a snack, and maybe some water. Hydration is key to catching murderers!"

The longhouse is set up like a meeting hall, with long benches on each wall, facing each other. There's a table at the front of the room already holding a small box and a pad of papers and pen, for voting apparently. Aside from that, the room is empty. It’s only when everyone has taken a seat that the doors close and the Chief speaks.

"Well, have at it. You've got till nine."

And then, he points to a clock on the wall that reads 12:00. Good luck.

Welcome to the trial post! Characters are free to discuss everything related to the trial here. They won't be let out of the room until 9PM when voting ends. Every character must vote and the voting post can be found here.

INVESTIGATION
Image

The beach is quiet, eerily so. All animals, all insect noise, all gusts of wind have come to a complete stop this morning. The only sound is that of the ocean, but even that seems muted. Everything is hushed and as the doors of the huts opens, the only sensation that rings utterly true today is this:

One of your own is gone.

And now, as the rules state, it is your job to discover their fate.

Welcome to the investigation post! If your character decides to search an area, please post the name of the location in your header and wait for the mod replies. Anything to discover or not to will be indicated during the course of the thread.

After the body is discovered, an announcement will be made and characters are free to spend the rest of the afternoons how they like. If there are any questions, please shoot a message either to this journal or at [plurk.com profile] tikirobo.

WEEK FIVE
Image
CURRENT POPULATION: 16

It's a rather peaceful island when you get down to it. It's warm and temperate, the water clear and perfect, and the air is humid and accompanied by a soft breeze. Comfortable weather in every possible way.

... Of course, there's not much in the way of comings and goings when there aren't any actual people here to watch. Nevertheless, don't let that get you down! The beach is your metaphorical oyster (or possibly literal one, depending on what you find) and it doesn’t seem as though the Chiefs are happy until everyone's out of bed. Up and at 'em, rise and shine, it's time to make the day yours!

After all, there's nothing wrong with the beach today and you might just want to savor it while it lasts.

This post functions as the general mingle post for the week. Profiles and other small events will be posted in top levels below. If there's any questions or requests, please send a PM or shoot a PP to [plurk.com profile] tikirobo

Both Chiefs arrive at the same time, Hal carrying Laura Moon slung over his shoulder while Pal carries her leg. When they get to the middle of the beach, they drop her in a pile in the sand but the corpse doesn't really stir, a glint of gold already lying in the sand next to her.

Hal turns back to the beach after, glancing at the few stray seagulls perched on trees, watching with beady, greedy eyes. The Chief looks to the huts, and then he calls out, louder than naturally possible,

"Execution time, folks! A... lot of you have been chosen as executioner. So, just come on down and watch and we'll get it all sorted when everyone's here."

And then, as indifferent as ever, he steps to the side and waits.

... Except unlike last week, the Chiefs arrive together. Each one is holding an end of a grand piano and exiting out of Austria's hut with the instrument held between them. On top of the piano, bound to it in loose rope is Austria and together, the three of them make their way to the middle of the beach before the Chiefs put the piano down in the sand and take a step back.

After that Hal looks to the huts, and then he calls out, louder than naturally possible,

"Execution time, folks! Prussia has been chosen as executioner. Come on down and watch."

It's... quiet. The morning is quiet and dull and even the animals rustling in the jungle or skittering on the beach seem a bit at a loss for what to do. The beach as a whole seems to be waiting. It'll soon be obvious what-for. One of the chiefs arrives carrying equipment for what seems to be a firepit, or a hog roast -- two sticks and a pole. He shoves the sticks into the sand, sets the pole up across them with a grunt and spends a while quietly digging a hole. When he's done, he steps off to the side and waits.

A few moments later, the second Chief arrives, Yato in his arms. Sorry to say, he's totally hogtied. That looks pretty uncomfortable... but oh well. He's going to die anyway, after all! He brings them to the firepit and rather roughly ties them to the pole, by both wrists and ankles.

He turns back to the beach after, glancing at the few stray seagulls perched on trees, watching with beady, greedy eyes. The Chief looks to the huts, and then he calls out, louder than naturally possible,

"Execution time, folks! Jacopo has been chosen as executioner. Come on down and watch."

And then, as indifferent as ever, he steps to the side and waits.
