Winter wonderland

We headed out to check out winter wonderland at Bass Pro. Thanksgiving is so late this year. I feel like we need the tree up and the lights up outside. Usually we wait till after Thanksgiving but it seems like we are all in the Christmas spirit.  Besides, what kid doesn't want to see Santa on her birthday? It was time to get started and enjoy the fun before everything is packed up.

Happy Birthday Brooke

Happy 7th Birthday to my sweet Brooke.

You are sweet, smart with a lot of sass. You love to read and write in your journal.  Most nights you read in bed on your own now.  You don't need/want help with your chapter books.  Gym is your least favorite thing to do at school and library day is your favorite.   

Following the rules is just the way you roll.  Singing in front of people is not your thing.  Catching your dance moves and hearing you sing from another room makes me smile.  You are an amazing helper and aren't afraid to let your feelings show.  Like when you didn't get what you thought was in the bag :)

 

You are an amazing 7 year old girl and we are holding on tight while you continue to grow.  We love you so so much!!!!

Birthday Party

We had a small party with family to celebrate Brooke and Lindsey's Birthday.

Brooke really wanted to do a Frozen Birthday Party since it is a new Disney movie due out the day after her birthday and the two girls in it are sisters.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tiny snow fun

We had just a dusting of snow last night. Brooke was overjoyed. It was as if there were snowdrifts as high as the doors and snowmen to be built. She was dressed and ready for school by the time Lindsey was on the bus. Jenna and Brooke had some time to play out in the snow before school.

Brooke kept yelling, "I'm snowboarding".

 

 

 

Fall Play

Lindsey was out this morning playing at the park. The Down syndrome association was doing the kids pictures for the 2014 calendar.  I can't wait to see the faces she captured for the calendar.

Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat had to moved for weather reasons. The weathermen were calling for lots of wind and rain. The morning of trick or treat they moved it from a Thursday to a Sunday. Brooke was not thrilled when she found out. She had been counting down the days since the calendar flipped to October. Once the day finally was here no one was really feeling the Halloween fun. There had been other activities they had done and the candy has been piling up before the start of trick or treat.

Boo at the Zoo

We love going to Boo at the Zoo every year. It has been weird going without Brooke.

The animals were out on the sunny day.  Unfortunately, so were the bees that ruined our lunch.
