Daddy Time Out

Pepper has never seen The Princess and The Frog (and I'm ok if that doesn't happen for a long time... can you say CREEPY??), but she has a Tiana doll and she loves it.  Corban was holding it the other day, and suddenly remembered that he used to take heads off of his sisters' barbies.  He wanted to make sure they still make the same caliber of Barbie today, and we consequently found out that given enough pressure, Barbies can still be easily decapitated.  And just the same as it was 20 years ago, they are never quite the same after said decapitation.

Today....
P:  uh oh mommy, i broke it.
Me:  no, daddy broke tiana, pepper.
P: oh, daddy broke it?
Me: yeah.
P:  oh.  why?
Me:  I don't know why daddy broke tiana's head.
P:  oh. Cause, um, daddy time out?
Me: yeah, daddy time out.
P:  oh.  why?
Me:  I don't know, pepper.  Did you break it, Pepper?
P:  No, daddy break it.  Member?
Me:  Why did daddy break it?
P:  Cause daddy go time out. Cause mommy say, "NO!"
Me:  Is daddy going to fix Tiana?
P: No.
Me:  Why not?
P:  Cause daddy sad.
Me: Why is daddy sad?
P:  Cause daddy want to fix it.  Cause Tiana got a owie on it.

 etc etc etc etc

Life is very different (AWSOME-ER) since Pepper started talking and thinking [somewhat] logically.  She learned the word WHY a couple weeks ago and it has made for some interesting discussions in our home.  This girl makes me laugh every single day!

Only my family will understand this...

Saw this shirt at a thrift store and couldn't decide whether to buy it for Mom or Haley.

So I just left it there.

"Oh. Em. Gee.  Look at all that lucious hair,
just waiting to get in my grubby, sweaty clutches.
Come to PAPA!"
 Image

"Ooooohh and BRACELETS!
Of course they aren't as tasty as
Mommy's dangly earrings, but they'll do."
Image

"Who am I kidding.
Really I just want that hair.
In my belly.
Like now.
Don't you judge me, Evan."
Image

 "Are you guys done yet?
Cause I am.
Peace out."

We love you Evan!  We're so proud of you!  Thanks for spending some of your last Missouri days with us!

Do your duty

I'll give you two chances to guess what Pepper is doing in these pictures, but you'll probably only need one.

Someday in about 10 years Pepper may or may not kill me posting these pictures.  Hope you enjoyed them!

UPDATE:  I have been notified that not everyone can figure out what Pepper is doing in just one or two guesses.  So I'll just tell you:  POOPING.

It's ok for sisters to swoon. I won't tell.

Haley,
Take a deep breath, and make sure you are sitting down. Here's the proof:)

A few more for Hermana VDM

Hermana,
I feel like this is the easiest way to share pics with you... it's probably not, but that's how I feel so here we go!

I took the kids to visit Mom and Dad last week.  It was a great trip!  Pepper had so much fun playing barbies with Gwapa, feeding the kitties (Rocky and Thoey), and jumping on the trampoline.

Killing time in the St. Louis airport... the kids were great on both flights, HOORAY!  Pepper was so excited to be going on a "hairplane."  She tells me everyday now, "Go hairplane soon please, Mommy? Snack on hairplane and buckle! Pweeease Mommy?"

Giddy-up!! (FYI---I know the big beautiful TV in the background is going to throw you off... but yes, this is Mom and Dad's house.)

I can't get enough of his squishiness.

Walking the bike trail!  Forgot to pack a more manly hat for Lincoln, poor guy... It was gorgeous weather in Cincy.

Mom got these goldfish to use in her sunbeams lesson.  Chelsea (who also came to Cincy--party time!!) and I were sitting in the  family room when (unbeknownst to us) Pepper decided to pick up this very heavy jar off the kitchen table to show it to us.  She made it  all the way into the family room before dropping it on the floor, spilling fish and poopy fish water on Mom's nice carpet.  Sorry Gwama!!

She LOVES her GWAMA!!

And Farmer John!  Er, I mean GWAPA!!

The morning after we got back to St. Louis, Pepper found some nail polish on my nightstand while I was in another room.  Amazingly enough she didn't get it on any furniture! The tears are from her freaking out about, "WASH HANDS PLEASE!!!"

Aren't they handsome?  :)
