Hurricane Ike was an experience I don't think I want to have again. The 80-90 mph wind gusts in my neighborhood sustained for about 8 hours caused a lot of damage. Luckily we recently moved to a new section so all the fences are new and all the trees are small. In older sectioins of Fairfield with larger trees there was a lot of damage...downed fences, blown off shingles and siding, downed trees, etc. The work projects have been many and will be for months to come. The video below is just a small sample of the winds at our house. It was taken near the end of the storm but the wind speed was still very high. Janna and I appreciate your prayers and calls during and after the storm.

YEAH! We're in our new home!
We have FINALLY moved into our new home!!!!!! It was really touch and go for a while. There had not been any showings at the old home for a couple of weeks and we were thinking we would have to go back to the drawing board and go with plan B .
We received a call on Valentine's Day saying we had an offer on the house. Todd was on his way to Daytona, I was out in Austin spending time with Tanna, John and Danielle. Everything came together just in time, guess the stars were aligned just right. We moved to our new home on March 25th. We closed on the old home and the new home the same day. Spent the next 2 days moving and cleaning.
We love our home, it is beautiful.
Sorry we don't have any current pictures or video yet...... still arranging rooms, hanging pictures, placing furniture etc

The home building goes on...
Hi, whether we sell our current home or not the new home building process continues. The brick is finished, the sidewalks and driverway have been poured, the first coat of exterior paint has been applied, the cabinets and countertops are in, the tile has been set, a lot of the light fixtures are in place and the electricity is on, and I'm sure I left a lot out. Wow! Janna and I are getting very excited! (Sure hope our old house sells.) It is nearly Christmas and with everything that has happened in November and December the only thing we have really done for Christmas is put the lights up outside. All of our inside decorations are in storage and we never really got to anything else other than a few gifts and service projects. Oh well, I guess there is always next year. Enjoy the house photos; I know I had a lot of fun taking them.

The baby is here!
Hi, on Friday, Dec. 7 2007 Janna and I officially became grandma and grandpa Maddox. Danielle Marie Bills was born at 11:19 am and weighed in at 5 pounds 5 ounces. She is beautiful! She came a bit early so she needs to spend some time in the NICU before she will be able to go home. Mom and Dad are both doing well but do seem a little overwhelmed. It is a good thing she has grandparents to step in and help out. We rushed out to Austin as fast as we could on Friday. I am going home today because I have to go to work on Monday while Janna will remain with mother and baby for a while. The work thing strikes again. Wow! It is hard to believe that we are grandparents. We are really looking forward to the experience. My brother Troy and his wife Brigitte are not the only grandparents in town anymore. They have some competition. 8-) Enjoy the pictures below. I'm sure they're just the beginning. Your favorite blogger, Todd.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Christmas is coming soon and that means time for a lot of lights at our house. Once again we have combined with our neighbors to create a winter wonderland. The neighborhood loves it! Especially the children. The airline pilots send me their thanks for guiding them in on stormy nights. Some families park their cars and then get out and walk up and down the sidewalk under the lighted arches just so they can see everything. My neighbor Kerry really goes all out. As Christmas nears Santa comes for a few evenings to visit the children young and old.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Todd and Janna.
