- To begin, click on the Plugins link in the left hand sidebar, then click Add New.
- Search for Migrate to WordPress.com. The latest version will be in the search results. Click the Install Now button.
- Next, click the Activate button. After activating, you can navigate to Migrate to WordPress.com in your admin area.

I had been self-hosting on GoDaddy for years. GoDaddy support is so-so. Expect to pay extra even for something like migrating your pHP servers from one version to another. I tried it myself but it crashed the site. So I had to restore. Long story short, I got tired of the backend of patching and keeping up with updates, I opted to move my hosting to wordpress.com This plugin made everything easy. I couldn’t add the plugin through the Dashboard so I had to FTP it to the wp-content folder manually. Once it showed up in the dashboard and I activated it, it worked like a charm.
