This week’s resignation of BBC’s CEO Tim Davie and CEO of BBC News Deborah Turness was welcomed by UG Solutions cadre of American veterans working to support humanitarian aid delivery in Gaza. For months, UG Solutions was smeared and defamed by biased and ill-informed reporting that resulted in real life consequences including death threats, legal actions, and harassment of our staff and contractors. We can only hope that moving forward, the BBC will live up to its mandate to provide impartial news where all sides of an argument, situation, or event have equal coverage.  

On many occasions, BBC journalists would request UG Solutions responses to questions which we were happy to provide with context and additional information. A vast majority of these responses were disregarded in BBC reporting or were used as fodder for responses by pro-Hamas organizations such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Amplifying discredited former contractor Anthony Aguilar, despite UG Solutions providing robust legal and internal documents that proved Aguilar was dishonest, is but one example of how the BBC was not an honest actor in its dealings with UG Solutions, despite our good-faith efforts to assist them to maintain journalistic standards.  

UG Solutions believe that BBC knew that as a primary news outlet that other media would republish or share their reporting, magnifying the half-truths and blatant disinformation about our work, our relationships with the Gazan public, and intentions in supporting aid delivery. Going forward, we will not take on faith that BBC journalists will “do the right thing” by including any information that we provide or responses to their queries. In the sense of full transparency, we will post their questions and our responses to our website for all to access – BBC leadership, other journalists, and the general public.

UG Solutions (UG) welcomed the return of Israeli hostages who were held in Gaza for over two years as a part of the President Trump-led peace initiative. As a part of the previous ceasefire, we understand that delicate process that enables hostages to return to their families and Palestinian prisoners returned to their homes. The International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (ICRC) should be lauded for enabling this vital transfer, without a doubt overcoming challenges ranging from coordinating a hand-over location to finding safe routes for their vehicles to move to and from the collection spots.

Early indicators suggest that the situation in Gaza may be tenuous for the short to mid-term as the remnants of Hamas and clans vie for control of neighborhoods, cities, and the Gaza Strip as a whole. For the humanitarian community, this power struggle will make aid delivery even more precarious than during the previous ceasefire or prior to the onset of the war. As the lone international security firm with experience on the ground in the last year, UG stands ready to continue its work with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) or any other international organizations or local nongovernmental organizations that believe that an increased security posture would better protect their staff, aid supplies, and logistics lines.

Our cadre of American veterans each have decades of experience in areas facing civil unrest, terrorist threats, and limited to no governance. In sum, their knowledge of Gaza and what is likely forthcoming is second to none and positions UG as the go-to security firm to help those focused on rebuilding and delivering aid in the second phase of the peace plan. In addition, UG’s connections back to the U.S. Department of War and allied nations’ militaries and security services can enable seamless coordination between the soon to be established multinational forces and the humanitarian community. The implementation of President Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza is a major move forward for the people of Gaza, Israel, and the broader Middle East towards a durable peace. As the security provider operating in Gaza since the Winter 2025 ceasefire, UG Solutions understands first-hand the sensitive time that Gaza is in and the intense coordination that will be required for the upcoming hostage handover. We remain committed to our work in Gaza, especially to help people obtain humanitarian aid in a safe manner.

The need for humanitarian aid in Gaza is great, far more than any one organization can provide, as the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has stated on numerous occasions. As the United Nations (UN), international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and local Palestinian NGOs ramp up aid delivery in accordance with the UN 2720 system, UG Solutions remains ready to assist with any security needs that may arise to protect personnel, logistics lines, and infrastructure. Without a doubt, the coming weeks will be unsteady as a new leadership structure for Gaza comes into existence, the flow of people back to their home areas commences, and aid delivery comes back on-line for organizations that were inactive over the last several months. Our cadre of American veterans have some of the best insights on the current security realities on the ground and ways to best mitigate threats.

UG Solutions is proud of its work at the GHF’s Secure Distribution Sites (SDSs) where we prevented the looting of aid trucks, protected the SDS infrastructure, and provided medical care to thousands of Gazans from late May 2025 until today. The babies our medics helped to deliver at the SDSs are coming into life in a new Gaza, one that we have strong optimism for. Our mission at the SDSs is not over and we are honored to continue serving the GHF, and more importantly, the people of Gaza.
