Love, Uppity.

Meanwhile check out IMUST’s brilliant puppy Henry. His mother was a bit of a Trollup, but we’re pretty sure she was kind of selective. At least we hope so……

Election 2020

Here we are at the precipice. May the force be with us.

Election Coverage from WHIO: How to watch, listen, and stay alerted

We really, really, really need the Senate too. Without the Senate, the new president will be extremely limited. And likely harassed for four years.

Even though we’re probably not going to know the results tonight, I’m still going to watch for as long as I can keep my eyes open.

Where are you watching the coverage?
I’d usually go for MSNBC but I can’t stand Kornacki. I need a new place. Hit me up.

In case you’re interested, 538 put out a graphic to manage your election returns expectations.

Democratic Convention 2020

The Virtual Democratic Convention begins on Monday, August 17 and ends on Thursday, August 20. Feel free to use this thread for your gavel to gavel commentary.

I know this election year is one big let down for many, especially because we ran the most exciting candidate in my life last time and she’s still better than the one we have. BUT we are adults and we will do the right thing to save the nation. This is not the year to phuck around. Flip the Senate too, while you’re at it. RBG’s successor hangs in the balance. We can all get excited about getting the disgusting, illegitimate orange POS off of our property.

So, the convention. I found this fabulous article that tells the themes for each night, who’s speaking, and how you can watch the whole thing for free.

The highlights:

Monday

9 p.m. ET: Speakers include Senator Amy Klobuchar, Senator Catherine Cortez Mastro, Governor Andrew Cuomo, Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Representative Jim Clyburn, Representative Gwen Moore, and Senator Doug Jones.

10 p.m. ET: Keynote speeches from Senator Bernie Sanders and former First Lady Michelle Obama.

And more.

Tuesday

9 p.m. ET: Speakers include former acting U.S. attorney general Sally Yates, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, former secretary of State John Kerry, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester, and former president Bill Clinton.

10 p.m. ET: Keynote speech from former Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden.

And more.

Wednesday

9 p.m. ET: Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Governor Tony Evers, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, and former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

10 p.m. ET: Keynote speeches from Senator Kamala Harris and former president Barack Obama.

And more.

Thursday

9 p.m. ET: Former vice-president Joe Biden, Senator Cory Booker, Governor Gavin Newsom, Pete Buttigieg, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Senator Tammy Baldwin, Senator Tammy Duckworth, Senator Chris Coons, and Andrew Yang.

10 p.m. ET: Former vice-president Joe Biden’s acceptance speech.

And more.

There’s more information in the article. Do check it out because I’m not about to quote the whole thing here. Besides, the link will open in a new tab so you won’t miss a minute of this blog while you peruse the article.

Time to make the popcorn and enjoy!

It’s The End Of The World!

Due to a heartfelt plea from a longtime blog member for whom I have a soft spot, I am reluctantly removing myself from retirement for roughly ten minutes to put up a new post —— and to give you some terrible news: Also to add some levity where there simply is none anymore. We’re probably all going to die, but hey, let’s not test everybody and get some REAL numbers. There’s an election of a lunatic with a bird’s nest on his head to consider! That would look bad!

So onto the “really” bad news:

peepsThe Peeps Factory has closed due to Coronavirus!

I never thought things would get THIS bad!

I am absolutely shaking at the thought that I will not get to eat those stale marshmallow things that taste like perfume and are dipped in carcinogenic food-coloring. I am crushed!!!

It truly is the end of the world!

For those of you having tremors along with me over this, I can only refer you to blog posts from better days.
