A usable solution is the resolution of a problem, which quality of use are defined and fulfilled.
How to Design a Usable Solution?
- Know your target customers
- Understand their needs
- Learn how they fulfill their needs, how far the goals are reached, and what are the paint points.
- Find what can be optimized in order to better fulfill the needs and to remove the paint points
- Design a solution which help them
- Define all users of the solution
- Implicate users in the definition and evaluation of the solution
How to implicate users?
- Find all target groups involved in the planned solution
- Find users for each of the target groups
- Research the users expectations, needs, behavior and their contexts of use in relation to the solution. Research through direct observation and interview.
- Let them use prototypes of the solution for evaluation purpose. Learn from observation.
- Do this interactively along the whole design and build phases
- Continue evaluating the end-product with users for further continuous improvement
