-He helps us build stuff

Have a great birthday, Old Man!

Go UTES!

Man, what a season! So I decided to take the boys, along with Natalie and her kids, and 10,000 of our closest friends, to the parade for the Utah football team. It was so much fun! They boys loved it. I managed to see one of my best friends, Sara, in the crowd-What fun! We saw the players, Coach Whittingham, the band, famous tailgaters, dancing grandma, and my cousin Ryan. Who knew...It was a hoot seeing him walk with the MUSS. Mason's favorite part was Pirate Guy, Brian Johnson, and King Louie. Dylan loved his tattoo, and the pirate ship. It was a great way to end an awesome season. We can't wait for next year to start. GO UTES!ImageImage

Snowboarding 101

Image
So, our good friend Jodi is the snowboarding queen!!! She also happens to be in Cub Scouts...fun. Anyway, she needed me to come and help out with an activity, which happened to be sledding and snowboarding. I have been wanting to try it, and so has Mason. This was the perfect time. Jodi brought Madi's board for Mason and Dylan, and I tried her board. It was a BLAST! Too bad it is so expensive...it will have to wait until next season.

Christmas...Finally!

Image
So, I guess I had better do a post of Christmas, since this is supposed to be our family journal...That isn't working out so well. Oh well...

Christmas was a blast! Little One finally figured out that Christmas is a good thing, and Santa is a great guy. Here are the highlights of Christmas Day.

-Big One got his Star Wars guys and red iPod, just like he asked Santa for.

-Little One got Handy Manny and his truck, just like he asked Santa for.

-Mike got a new XBox 360

-I got a new photo storage box thingie, and a storage bag for my Cricut machine

-We had our traditional Monkey Bread, Hash Browns, and Bacon for breakfast

-We stayed in our PJ's until noon, and played with toys all morning

-Went to Grandma and Grandpa's and played with cousins, and a bunch more new toys

-Came home, played more, well into the night

It was so much fun hanging all day together, not worrying about the mess that ensued (and managed to last for 2 days after). Man, I love my family

Happy Birthday!

Since it has been over a month now, and who knows how the Utes will do tonight, I thought I had better update the blog from 12-0. A good place to start is Big Ones Birthday. I really can't believe that I have a 7 year old...Eeeeek, how did that happen. He was so lucky, that he was able to see Santa on his birthday at the ward party. Then, we had a gathering with some friends, went to his basketball game, and Grandma and Grandpa came over for hot dogs and macaroni and cheese (from the box, gross!) for dinner. The adults had steak and baked potatoes. He had a great day, or so he says.
Here are some highlights from his day:
ImageChuck E. Cheese's the day before to celebrate, when there are fewer crowds...during school. Yeah, baby, that's right...The teacher is checking her kid out of school to go to a restaurant when there are fewer people! We know how to live it up at!

Santa at the Christmas Party.Image
12 robes later, we had a great Jedi Training Party. I can't believe that I actually made the robes...what was I thinking????Image
Mason wanted cupcakes for dessert. What you can't see are the really cool chocolate light sabers I made to go on top. They really were cool.Image

Grandma and Grandpa did it again...They always know the right thing to get the boys for their special days. He had a GREAT time playing with the new racetrack. (well, so did Mike, for that matter.)

We are so glad to have Mason a part of our family. He is such a good big brother to Dylan. He always keeps up laughing with the funny things he says or the jokes that he makes up. He his so helpful around the house. He is a good friend, and is reading so well. We love you buddy! Hope you have a great year of being 7.

Perfection = 12-0, not 10-2

Image

What a game!!! Going into the BYU game we thought it would be a close game and come down to the last possession. That's how it happened for the last 2 years right. Who knew that it would be such a blowout. Brian Johnson had the game of his career. It was a good night for him to end his career at Utah. The real MVP of the game was Max Hall. He had 5 interceptios and 1 lost fumble. I guess that's what they call perfection down in Provo. It was a great year and we're excited to see which BCS game they will go to.

Rock Band Party

Image Image Image

What a fun night. We had the neighborhood gang over for a night of Rock Band fun. We missed the Hyde's and Kealamakia's. Natalie sure got into the dancing and singing. We've decided that we need to make a regular occurrence of it. Enjoy the pictures.

A Golfing Family

Last weekend we took the boys to the driving range for an afternoon of golfing. Mason took golf lessons this summer and is a very good golfer. He could actually hit it past the 50 yard marker. Maybe he'll be the next Tiger Woods and mom and dad can retire to Hawaii. Dylan insists that he needs to be a lefty. Golfing is expensive enough. We don't need to buy 2 sets of clubs. Mom will need to get clubs and lessons soon so that she can join the boys on the course.

New Bed

The time has finally come. Dylan was able to move out of his 'baby jail' and into a big boy bed. He is so proud that he now gets to be just like his big brother.

Image
Two days after moving into his new bed, we came in to check him on a Sunday afternoon while he was taking a nap. The picture below is what we found. He had moved all the way to the wall and was sleeping all the way against the wall. When he woke up and realized what he had done he found it very funny. The picture is below.

Little One's Personality

We had our family pictures taken on Sunday and captured 2 pictures of Dylan that clearly show his personality. There is no better way to explain him than with these 2 pictures.
