Once again it has been way too long since we have updated our blog. Summer has past & we have too many things that we did not get to do that we had hoped we would. However, we played outside a lot & both of the girls loved the inflatable swimming pool as much as a big one. Reese got to go out on the boat a few times & really had a good time with her cousins. We thought she would like the tube & the wave runner but I don't think that she liked the water in her face. She was very content on the boat & was easy to watch. She is talking up a storm now & you can pretty well hold a decent conversation with her. She is too smart for her own good though, when she does something bad & she knows it she'll beat you to the punch & say "I'll go to my room & think about that!". Off she goes to put herself in timeout. So timeout really isn't working for us. Potty training is around the corner. The other day I found her sitting on her potty chair (she'd taken off her pants & diaper) & she said "Mom, I am doing my business. I need my privacy". Well.....okay.
Charley cut her first 2 teeth at about 6 months & started crawling at 8 months. She is becoming more & more like her sister. Stubborn, curious, & a very fast learner. She is getting into all my cupboards & loves pulling things out. She is very much a mama & Bama's girl. She is starting to warm up to Aaron but because she has to compete with Reese for his attention she oft times ends up in my arms.
We finally got a new heating system up at the cabin & so we are hoping to spend a few weekends up there this winter. Aaron & I want to take the girls on the snowmobiles. They loved the 4-wheelers this summer. In fact, that was a sure fire way to get Charley down for a nap....just take her for a ride. It is so beautiful up at the cabin during the winter so it will be nice to enjoy it without feeling its bitterness.
Mom & Dad are still living with us but have started the process of submitting their papers for their third mission. I have mixed feelings as usual but I am still excited for them. We will miss them a lot after having them in our home for a year. The girls will miss them too, Charley is especially going to miss her Bama. Bama really dotes on her.
All is well with us Utley's. I guess until next time. Love to hear from you as always.
