Sunday, February 22, 10 a.m., “Snowballs in Hell,” Rev. Leika Lewis: This service will explore the legacy of Black ancestors, examples of resistance, the ways we support each other in practicing resistance today, and how we create space for growth in the midst of challenging times.

Share the Plate: Humanitarian Fund for Displaced Children in Gaza

Our Share the Plate offering in February is for the Humanitarian Fund for Displaced Children in Gaza. Charlene Willis spoke about the program on February 8, at our Sunday service.

Through a mutual aid program that has teams on the ground in Gaza, the Fund is regularly helping to supply at least 12 families with food and clothing. This model provides a direct route for emergency aid/relief that bypasses much of the legislative red tape around incorporation.

Thanks for your Contributions to UUSD’s Valentine’s Giving Parade

Thank you to our wonderful congregation! UUSD Cares had a very successful Valentine’s Day Giving Parade.

We filled three SUV’s with food, two SUV’s with clothing and one SUV with baby products and clothing! The food went to the Milton Community Food Pantry that serves thousands of local residents each year. The clothing went to the Shepherd’s Office in Georgetown. The baby supplies went to our local Baby Pantry.

Sharing Our Stories

Each of us at UUSD has a different story to tell about how we found a spiritual home here. A few of us are life-long UUs but most are not, having come from a variety of other religious backgrounds or from no particular place of faith. Whatever our journey, sharing the stories of the paths we took helps connect us to each other and to the shared journey we are now making.
