It scared him.
It scared him more than anything else. And yet when Al and Crow promised him that they'd do all they could to stop this experiment, he knew.
Rean knew he couldn't keep doing this. Not alone. If he was going to act, now was the time to do it. So, he just needed to wait. Wait for when the moment was right. That's why when the three of them meet up for their usual brunch that morning, Rean waits until they're all done with their meal. Then, once the moment is right, he'll reach into his pocket for something.
