Hack the Future tackles the pressing need for climate adaptation, urban resilience, and sustainable city planning. Taking place on May 20–21 at Tallinn’s Energy Discovery Centre as an official Latitude59 side event, participants will collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to design solutions in mobility, circular economy, public space recovery, economic recovery through tourism, and smart cities. We are looking for entrepreneurs, founders, IT experts, sustainability and greentech specialists, designers, and data professionals who are eager to contribute their skills. Guided by world-class mentors, teams will develop pilot-ready projects that can be implemented in Valencia, gaining insights, experience, and connections to advance their ideas.
From hackathon to real-world implementation
Participants will compete over two days in Tallinn to develop prototypes and pitch their solutions. The top three teams will pilot their projects in Valencia from June to October, supported by funding of up to €50,000. The program culminates at VDS 2025, where teams will showcase their solutions to investors, policymakers, and international innovation leaders. Hack the Future combines intensive collaboration, expert guidance, and real-world testing to ensure that ideas are feasible, scalable, and impactful.

Opportunities & impact
Hack the Future provides mentorship from global experts, access to Europe’s leading startup ecosystems, and opportunities to gain investment and recognition. Participants will contribute to Valencia’s urban resilience and sustainable development while testing ideas in one of Europe’s most innovative and progressive cities. By joining, teams also qualify for the VDS Startup Competition, expanding visibility and growth potential. The event offers a platform to collaborate across disciplines, showcase solutions internationally, and make a tangible impact in cities facing climate and disaster challenges.
The three top teams will have the chance to pilot their solutions in Valencia from June to October 2025, supported by funding of up to €50,000 to maximize impact. Their projects will also be showcased at VDS 2025 on October 22–23 at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, providing further opportunities for visibility, recognition, and growth.
