A comment on 
taimatsu's Journal about the bad at Oxford outweighting the good, and several comments from many other friends made we wonder:
Am I the only one who liked Oxford (okay and Cambridge - many of the comments were about there) as a university? I really loved it, but so many people I know seem to think that they would have been better elsewhere.
I found that college was great and the intellectual stimulation was just what I needed, and the societies gave me cross college friendships (hispindlemere!).
I really came into my own, gained confidence, grew up, found a wife etc!
