If you’re lazy, simplify your life.
In the mission of getting rid half of my clothing to accommodate my laziness to do laundry. Hahah.
Well, if I have too few clothes I need to do more laundry. But the thing is because of laziness I will wear everything in my entire wardrobe before doing any laundry. So you can only imagine the process of doing laundry, hang my ‘wardrobe’ up, and folding them and arranging them in unstable stack. Hard work.
And I only have one laundry basket. so if it’s full of dry clothes, I cannot do my laundry. And going to the shop and bringing it back is- guess what- hard work.
Salam and Hi,
So Malaysia’s government has installed AES cameras- which function as a speed trap, recording speeding cars’ registration numbers. Many Malaysians are not in favour of the idea on the basis 1) The government is making easy money through fine 2) Those VVIPs are allowed- as usual- to exceed speed limit with their escort like a gangster on the road. And these reasons fuel their argument on why we should’t vote for the govt-in-power in the next election.

I totally identify with their situation. But let’s just think for a second, if you don’t agree with it, THEN WHAT?
Do you want the government to take the cameras off of the road?
I, for one, -or more than one, not all govt. policy is stupid (thanked God)- agree with the installation of AES. We in Malaysians have almost next to nothing road safety awareness. Those who have cars are speeding which obviously fatally dangerous. Those who don’t sometimes irresponsibly breaking down the passer-by traffic light signal. I am not sure if I have ever found 1 that’s working. And you know why the govt. don’t bother to fix it? Perhaps because nobody use it anyway. I’m not saying here that I am a fully, 100% responsible road user- because it hasn’t yet to be solidly proven. I can’t drive/ride motorbike, so I don’t know. I am QUITE responsible road user, but not really since I still cross the road when the traffic light is red but there’s no car in sight. But generally YES.
Anyway, my point I wanna make is that AES can be a mean to promote road safety awareness even though we do know it’s not done with the people’s best interest at heart. The problem is not the installation of AES but how some people are taking advantage of it. You can’t argue that “Those VVIPs can do it, we SHOULD BE ALLOWED to do it too”. Why can’t you say so? Because speeding is dangerous no matter who does it. Plain and Simple. Even if you are allowed to do so, it’s still wrong. It doesn’t make the action right.
So if AES is not the problem, WHAT THEN?
Well, as usual the implementation. VVIPs taking advantage of it etc. It’s almost a culture in Malaysia. Implementation is a big problem in all areas, not only in AES issue. There is only ONE WAY to cure this. The citizens should make politicians ALWAYS sitting on the edge via ELECTION. The politicians must know if they DO NOT TRY to perform to their best ability, there will be consequences. Lost of trust. Lost of opportunity. We shall never let them sit too comfortably. And I’m not talking about throwing out the current government , in fact this also applies if the opposition took over the government. We shall never let them sit too comfortably, too. They must know that we will throw them out if they don’t deliver, and that WE MEAN IT!
Problems with implementation doesn’t mean we have to scrape off the good potential of AES. We just need better governance. That’s easy to be done, if EVERYBODY understands and casts their vote for a better future. A better future which does not lie with the opposition, but the one which lies with your power to make a difference.
P.S.: This is purely my opinion based on personal reading. It does not reflect the accurate percentage of Malaysians’ opinions.
Voldemort’s robe is one of the most magnificent robe I’ve seen and my hands are itchy to get one myself. Saw it at the The Making of Harry Potter Studio in London. The price is ‘a liiittle bit’ ridiculous though. GBP2++ going on GBP300. But I think I’ll get one before returning to Malaysia. DON’T ASK me where and when I’m gonna wear such an ‘out of place’ robe, because I don’t really care about it’s suitability. It covers my aurah and it feels ‘dark’ and ‘bad’- which is a bonus.
