History
The initial challenge was considerable: to supply cables for the electrification of Mexico when the country was growing. There was a pressing need to solve the deficit in electricity supply.
These were the beginnings of Conductores Monterrey, today called Viakable, the first Xignux company. Learn more about our milestones below:
1956
Conductores Monterrey is incorporated on September 29.
1965
For the first time in Mexico, we manufactured medium voltage cables of up to to 35 thousand volts
We inaugurated the Conductores Monterrey plant, seven times larger than the first.
1981
The San Luis Potosí, opened to produce building wire and cable.
The Conductores Monterrey marketing network is incorporated.
1996
We acquired Sāo Marco, the third largest magnet wire producer in Brazil.
1997
We inaugurated Magnekon, one of the most modern magnet wire plants in the world.
2006
We manufactured, for the first time in Mexico, 115 kV energy cables.
2011
We opened CETIV (Viakable Technology and Innovation Center).
2012
We incorporated Centelsa, an electric conductor manufacturer based in Colombia.
2017
We opened Vialutek, focused on manufacturing aluminum rod.
