Challenge

As online academic instruction became essential for driving schools across Japan, Neumann’s proprietary LMS, N-LINE, rapidly expanded. Hundreds of driving schools adopted the platform, embedding video-based instruction into their curriculum.

However, each school managed its own Vimeo Self-Serve account. Over time, this resulted in more than 200 separate accounts, creating significant operational strain when scaling. Content management was fragmented, support became increasingly complex, and scaling the platform efficiently became difficult.

As Neumann’s customer base and video library continued to grow, it became clear that the existing approach would not support long-term expansion. The company needed a professional-grade video platform that could scale reliably, simplify operations, and support the industry-wide shift to online learning.

Solution

Neumann partnered with Vimeo to centralize its entire video infrastructure under a single Vimeo Enterprise account.

In June 2022, all existing Self-Serve accounts, and future growth, were consolidated into one unified environment. This immediately simplified video management, reduced operational overhead, and ensured a consistent viewing experience for driving schools nationwide.

As usage increased, Vimeo scaled alongside Neumann’s growth. Bandwidth capacity expanded from 1,500TB annually at launch to 5,250TB by 2025, supporting both a rapidly growing customer base and a continuously expanding content library.

Vimeo’s stable embed player and bandwidth management tools enabled Neumann to accurately monitor usage while delivering high-quality video at scale.

“Vimeo is an important partner supporting our educational services. We will continue to create the future of training together with Vimeo.”

Outcome

Today, Neumann delivers more than 37,000 instructional videos through Vimeo, supporting over 600 driving schools across Japan. Over five years of operation, the platform has remained stable with no major service disruptions.

The unified video environment allows Neumann to focus on innovation rather than infrastructure. The company has integrated advanced capabilities—such as AWS Rekognition facial recognition—directly into its LMS to verify online course attendance, earning strong trust within the industry.

Looking ahead, Neumann plans to leverage Vimeo AI to deliver multilingual instructional content, helping remove language barriers and ensure equal access to education for all learners.

Vimeo continues to serve as a trusted partner in Neumann’s mission to modernize driver education across Japan.

“With Vimeo's bandwidth management feature, usage can be accurately understood, enabling fair and efficient operation.”
