Case Study

Beso by Patria

Dappled light creates a soothing and ambient atmosphere.

Beso by Patria is a bold yet refined interpretation of Spanish culture, brought to life through a carefully curated interior that balances earthy warmth with contemporary elegance. Designed as a more intimate extension of the beloved Patria brand, the space invites guests into a moody, immersive environment where lighting, texture, and form converge to elevate the dining experience.

In collaboration with Scale Hospitality and Block Plan Studios, our team worked to develop a lighting concept that would both complement and define the architectural narrative. The result is a deeply atmospheric space that feels both grounded and transportive — a celebration of modern craftsmanship rooted in Spanish tradition.

Client Brief :

Our goal was to design a full-coverage lighting fixture for the dining area that felt light, airy, and organic, drawing inspiration from burlap sacks. The vibrant colors and mesh fabrication were carefully balanced to enhance rather than dominate the room, resulting in a soft, warm glow that creates an inviting and cozy ambiance.

Challenge :

The scale of the installation resulted in extended reviews to determine the best metal fabrication to work with. The result is a sprayed metal mesh with the right amount of metal, space and sheen to achieve an organic look. The process to achieve the unforced shape and light placement was intricate.
The second bar pendant felt very old-world antique and Spanish however the materials and brightness of the white is contemporary.
The contrast to the pieces can be viewed in shape and structure the colors are different but blend nicely in the room, and it's a ideal balance with materials to have one light and airy and one feel heavy.

Solution:

The meticulous process of selecting and refining the mesh material and shaping ensured the final piece appeared natural and integrated seamlessly with the space. Placement of the lights within the structure was also crucial.
Our solution involved using stainless steel mesh to minimize weight, coated with our proprietary VISO color, PA 8007, to achieve the desired aesthetic."
