2026/W07
Had a great week. Running went well. I managed to do 5k every day and concluded the week with a 15km long run. I feel much more prepared for the upcoming half-marathon I’m doing in March.
I’ve started reading The Source by Merwan — a follow up to Aster of Pan, which I read several years ago. Like its prequel, The Source has incredible ink and watercolour work. I spent one night studying the characters and trying to recreate them. After thinking so frequently: I miss painting, I finally sat down and returned to it. This was also a nice break from the little comics I’ve been making.
Over the last few months, I’ve been working through learning Merry Go Round of Life on guitar, thanks to this great instructional video. I’m nearly done it now and it has been very satisfying to chip away at learning it.

2025-W06 - Rusted machine continues creaking along.
2026/W04 - Snowed in
Cold weather and storms over here, this week. I’ve been cooped up. I continue plunging through The Count of Monte Cristo. Being stuck inside provided more ideal time for drawing and writing. For the former, I decided to start a "throwaway" book of comics, which I try
2026/W03 - Patience
This week had some ups and downs. I think the weather had a part to do with that, but the rest was just life, as it goes. Despite that, I had two great meals out with some friends, one of them totally impromptu, and watched the city get covered in
2026/W02 - Creative writing, comics, running
This was a satisfying week. Instead of trying to pack going for runs into early parts of the day, I gave in and booked nights during the week to go run at the gym. I would prefer to run in the daytime, but I can't find the time.
2026/W01 - Happy New Year!
Pulling the levers of the mind.
2025/W49 - Brain Vapours
Writing this week-note has helped me realize how close we are to the end of the year. Week 49 out of 52? Already? Somehow the days go by unnoticed one by one, but something about a week throws a harder punch. I’ve been stuck in my head more than
2025/W48 - Commissioning art
I found some joy this week in commissioning an artist to make a small piece for me. Carte blanche. It’s exciting to not know what I’ll get, but to yet receive a piece of work by someone who's style I admire. Writing has been slow, and
25/W47 - Paintings and Tome Carvings
November is flying by. I'm juggling a few different things but I'm trying to wrap up them all in reasonable time. Finished up a painting for a friend that’s going in the mail this week. Will be practicing my "finishing things" muscle a
25/W45 - Quiet evenings
weaknotes: 25/W45: A finished painting and quiet evenings.
25/W44 - Interviews, Music, Pens
Another week passes and leaves behind a glossy, hazy trail of unknown happenings. It was a pretty normal, uneventful week: * Went climbing * Got my teeth scraped with a sharp stick * Interviewed a family member * Saw the sharks exhibit at the ROM * Started prototyping a game in Godot. * Snagged a new
25/W43 - Metaloops
My mind has been somewhat stuck in a meta-loop these days. In my spare moments I'm finding myself back in the familiar groove of wondering about thinking about things. Usually, I'm caught up thinking about what I want to do in a sort of Platonic ideal

25/W33 - Tattoo flash, bikes, painting
Weaknotes: return to work, tattoo flash, bikes, and starting a new painting.
25/W32 - Growing nails, 1001 albums, isograph pens
It seems the only markers of time passing right now are my nails growing and my repeating todo tasks telling me that another week has passed. Didn’t I just clip my nails? Didn’t I just balance my budget? The heatwave has returned and so it feels like we
25/W31 - Running, Akira, Time management
The heatwave finally broke and things have cooled off here. Running has gotten much more pleasant, and I’ve been able to get out on the pavement and get more runs in. I finished reading Akira—I’ve gone through all six volumes in the last 3 weeks. I still
25/W30 - The Beginning of Weeknotes
Another week of finding our footing as new parents. A few friends have asked what that’s like, but I can’t really describe it. There is a lot to do, and that is good in itself, as I don’t think my mind could process this big of a
