Advice, please. :)

Ok, I have no problem admitting that I'm an amateur "webbie". :) I was wondering what the concensus is on the ideal way to set the width/height of a page.

The site I'm currently working on is: http://softfurrykitty.com/temp/newg-men/ and I'm wondering if I should...

a) leave the dimensions as they are and use scroll bars when the page content is "longer" than the size of the visible text area (see the Shows page),

or

b) make the visible (square-ish) content area larger width-wise and let each page be "whatever" length according to its contents.

What do you think? I mean, I can handle filling in content and stuff, but when it comes to the fancy spacing and shapes, I'm totally lost. This page design was a free template I found on the web (hence the credit at the bottom) and slightly modified.
