Question about this community's layout...

I have a question about something in the layout of this lj community...I've seen it a few places, but I figure this community would be my best bet of finding out how it's done. All I want to know is how to get something like the "page summary" that is on the left side of the page where it lists all the entry subjects...I figure it's a proprietary lj variable that's necessary for it (something like %%variable%%), but I don't see any variables that look like they would do the trick. I know this seems like a really ridiculous and unimportant question, but it's been bugging me that I can't figure it out. Thanks for any help you can give me.
