Here's the second topic for this community.
What is your favorite browser? Why is it your favorite? Compared to all other browsers you have tried, how does this one compare? Do you use same browser all the time or do you sometimes use two browsers to test out your web sites or apps?

I bet that everyone who is a member here would like to be introduced to each other so we would be familiar with what we all do. A good way to start up conversations and then take it from there...
I guess I'll start first after this post. In the future, for any new member who joins and want to introduce themselves, please use this thread to add your introductions to keep the threads neat and less cluttered. I'll be using tags to organize things a bit around here.

Hi again. I'm revamping this community so, as a moderator, I'll try to make this community active again. Sorry for a long period of inactivity due to busy schedule and other things that keep me away from the computer. Now, I'm back with a force and I am making sure that you ladies would come back and make this community active again. I'm thinking about making a new topic every 2 weeks so there'll be a room for discussion. I'm also in progress of making a simple community banner and icon to promote my community. Feel free to promote this community to the others who may be interested in this community. This is open to all folks who are using web in so many ways and to make web alive for everyone. Design and web standards are very important for the future of the web!
Hi I would like to know what people consider to be the absolute slowest they will allow a page to become, I am writing a tutorial for handmade books, I know I will have to split it into two pages eventually, I am up to 42secs at 56kbps (courtesty of Frontpage)thoughts please...Janet
New site layout! I love it, it really reflects me at the moment. Like my others, I am happy with this layout, too

I've just started doing professional web-work in the last 5 months, but I've been aquiring the knowledge for about 5 years. I started dating a programmer and, together, we quit our jobs and started in business together with Develix.com. It's been a rough ride, and we're regularly flat broke, but we're picking up little by little and we should be running a lucrative business by the end of the summer. I get a lot of work through subcontracting to a local company that maps neighborhoods and puts them up on the internet. They don't do much web-design, so they send the companies without sites to me! They're a start-up too, so we work together a lot. Anyway, it's nice to find this community and I hope it gets more active!
Well, sorry about all the confusion before, here it is! It is a little on the boring side design wise but they wanted something conservative yet accessable and clean looking. I avoided the use of much colour as it will be inserted into a frameset by the site administrater...I have no idea how that is going to work out, I hope it does not muck up the formatting too much. Gah I hate frames! I tried to talk them into getting rid of their frames and using something better for layout and formatting, but they would have none of it. *sigh* Anyhow, here is my contribution pre being inserted into the horrid frames;

Any comments are welcome, I am just trying to learn this stuff and I borrowed a css layout (see the css sheet for the url) and altered it a bit. Hopefully I can get enough of a grasp on css to start making my own sheets, unfortunately up to now the ones I make on my own are a little wonky :)

Ok, ignore the other entry, let's try this instead, much simpler and I look less idiotic;

This only works in Internet Explorer.
What can I do to ensure that the background jpg's for the navigation bar and footer show up in Opera, Firefox and Netscape?

Hi all!
I have been stumped by something which I am sure is very simple to solve, but I just cannot seem to figure it out! I was hoping somebody might be so kind as to point me the right direction.
( issues with browser compatibilityCollapse )
I was also curious as to a way to post code in LJ, without it trying to actualy utilize it.
Thanks for any help, I am sure this is pretty easy stuff, but I am just learning all the in's and out's :)
