Background: Convenient Wiki LinkPersonality:Natasha is a shadow. She's a spy. She uses subtlety to her advantage. She's highly intelligent, used to going under cover and running long missions. She's so good that she doesn't leave a trace behind. She's been called a legendary secret agent before. Her past, though, isn't without tragedy. She's trying to make up for wrongs she's committed, to try and make amends. We wouldn't call her a killer. She's more of a saboteur, using stolen gadgets, knockout gas and charm to accomplish her needs. She's not above threats though. She will threaten to kill you if necessary. Her moral code, however, isn't without flaws. She's willing to take a life to save one. She knows that if one life is taken, it could save a thousand, or possibly her own. She straddles that rare line of lethal force. She's a girl that you want to mess with at your own peril.
Most of the time, Natasha is unreadable. She was trained to avoid intimacy or vulnerability, so she doesn't like to show it. She is a highly secretive kind of girl, mainly because she doesn't want anyone close to her to get hurt. Because of this, she has trust issues. It's a defense mechanism to immediately lie and to keep secrets from others. Despite this, however, she has deep loyalties to those she works with and considers close. She has a teasing sense of humor towards them, and is even supportive when the time calls for it. She considers herself brutally honest, even a bit cynical. She's practical under pressure, even taking the lead when needed. She does have a tendency to run off into dangerous situations by herself.
She may be ruthless and calculating, but she's not devoid of compassion and mercy. She doesn't let people take that compassion away from her, basically giving them the proverbial fuck you about it. She's about love and loss and the courage to love again. She forces herself to keep going, to keep looking for ways to start over and continue. She has an incredibly strong will. That's probably one of the reasons she feels indebted to Clint. Instead of killing her when he was ordered to, he made a different call and took a chance on her, something that a lot of other people haven't done before.
Ultimately, Natasha is a survivor. She has the will to continue, the kind of heroism to have experienced the worst, to have been part of the worst, and yet still strives to do good, however broken it might leave her.

Sample post First Person:video;
Quite the device. A bit dated.
[She hums quietly.] I've had my share of wars. A few of them quite recently. I'd like a vacation at this point, and this was not my idea of one.
[A pause.] Don't expect me to pick sides so soon. I'm not that fickle.
I'm not going to bother with the 'how do I get out of here' drabble. I just want to know exactly what's going on from someone who isn't wanting to be in power.
Third Person:It had been one of the few days Natasha requested to be left alone. All she wanted to do was curl up on her sofa and watch an old recording of
Swan Lake she had acquired at the last trip to the video store. It had been worn and used often, considering she had purchased it from an older store going out of business, but that just meant it had been well-loved. The day was perfect; rainy weather had been forecasted for the day. She couldn't have asked for a better day. She had also threatened that no one could call her under any circumstances unless it was for National Security. And even then it had to be big.
Settling down with a cup of coffee and her tape, she managed to get through the first fifteen minutes before someone texted her. Just by glancing at the table in front of her where her phone lay she could tell it was someone she had warned. The first few texts were ignored in favor of the sheer beauty on her television screen. Swan Lake was a classic ballet, one that she had loved ever since she was a child. Three more texts came in at the 45 minute mark, which were ignored, yet again. Natasha was determined to watch her favorite ballet all the way through without interruptions.
Apparently, when she doesn't answer her texts messages, people think she's dead, so that's when her phone physically started ringing. Rubbing the bridge of her nose, she turned her phone to vibrate and left it on her table. Just another half an hour. That was alls he needed and they could blast her phone as much as they wanted. She managed to get to about 10 minutes left when a text message caught her eye.
Apparently, Clint couldn't handle her phone being unanswered, and in eternal capslock, had spammed her phone. OMG UR DEAD and I CAN'T LIVE W/O U filled her inbox, along with several claims on her personal items. Finally, she gave in, replying back to him.
If you touch my things, Barton, I will break your hands.Well, that quieted everything down. She managed to restart her tape and watch it all the way through this time.
