to be free is to be
connected
with the One who fashioned the stars
sensitive to the gentle voice
—a gentle, ancient voice—
who created the earth
but never screams
even at dust which disappoints
which grieves.

a free man is attacked
but unaffected 
and protected by the One
who cannot fail
One whose Word
lives, discerns,
and bears abundant fruit 
fulfilling its duty
time and time again.

a woman without chains 
need not compare herself to others
and lives in contentment
every season
yet is not satisfied with less
than God's plan,
holding joy in winters, spring, summers, and falls
knowing God works all things for her good
and His glory.

to be fully delivered
is to forsake all idols
bury the self
and walk in Christ
and the most powerful person
completely trusts God's plans
and obeys no matter the cost.
