Pride is a snare that rips the clothes
A useless enemy and deadly foe
He comes in many forms
Flattering, scheming, and bringing low.

Pride breeds many orphans
including anger, unforgiveness, and hate.
Only the wise avoid his traps,
and the humble avoid his fate.

Pride renders many colorblind
making red seem blue and dark appear light.
Only God can subdue this one
and those in bondage only God can make right.

Pride is a lightning strike
whose precedes a mighty storm.
He comes in many disguises
and must be resisted in all forms.
