Today, 2.8 billion people lack adequate housing, and over 733 million suffer from hunger. Without food and shelter, it’s difficult to build a dignified life. We Effect supports cooperative organizations to ensure access to nutritious food and decent housing. By empowering communities to join forces, we create lasting solutions – building safe homes and providing food security for generations to come.
We Effect Highlights the Role of Cooperatives in the Care Economy and Green Transition at the ICA-Americas Forum
We Effect participated in the Green Economy+I Laboratory, held in Panama City from 24–27 November, as part of the closing of the International Year of Cooperatives. The event brought together the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), ECLAC, FAO, ILO, UNDP, other UN agencies, and global networks of the social and solidarity economy, with the goal of showcasing the contributions of cooperatives to the care economy, the green transition, and sustainable development.
