Around 8:00 this morning I realized that I COMPLETELY missed running fab_feb_friends this year! So lame! So even though it's only going to wind up being about a day...let's get to it!

I went for an eye exam yesterday.  I always get so stressed out - what if I pick the wrong lens?! There's so much pressure!! Contact prescription stays the same; glasses need to be updated.  I've needed to use the reading glasses more and more in combination with the contacts to read things like...my phone. *sigh* 

So then the doctor lays out some options.  I can continue with the reading glasses/contacts combo or go for a floating multi-purpose contact for both near and far vision.  The upside to the fancy contacts is convenience; the downside is a loss of some clarity.  I said that in spite of my grumbling, I'd rather deal with the reading glasses and keep the clarity.  The doctor agreed with me, but then said this...

"When it gets to a point when you can't see what you're eating, come back and we'll talk again."

CAN'T SEE WHAT I'M EATING!? What the hell?! OMG is this what I have to look forward to? *SIGH*

So on the way home I picked up some readers from CVS and in an effort to turn completely into my mother, I bought a thing so I can wear them around my neck and not lose them.  This was a source of much fascination to my students because they don't quite grasp that I'm already using contacts and need more help on top of that.  This was my favorite comment of the day:  You look like a grandma.

For the first time in a few years I wrote every day, and I met my word count each day.  My projected word count was 6,000 words (200 x 30 days).  My total was... 13,331.  \0/  I love that it's such a symmetrical number ;)

Most of what I wrote can be found here under Mini_Wrimo Fics and Drabbles.  The one fic that didn't fit there was the sequel to my Fantastic Four/Avengers crossover.  That's here - Febris Somnium.

I'm so pleased with my success!  I always have so much fun doing this each November :)

So we're past the halfway point of mini_wrimo and things have been going well.  I started a series of short "The One Where Steve is Wee and..." fics because the idea of Steve Rogers as a kid plopped in the middle of Stark Tower amuses me.  If it amuses you too, give me a prompt.

Basically, for no explained reason, Steve has been regressed to about 9 years old.  He's scrappy, he's sickly and has imprinted on Thor like a duckling.  In a span of about 48 hours, what would you like to see weeSteve experience or interact with?  Give me some ideas and help get me to the end of mini_wrimo.

 OMG I had so much fun geeking out yesterday watching ComicCon from my couch.  I actually sat there and watched the cast of Avengers sign things for an hour.  AN HOUR!  When did I become this fangirl?  I actually enjoyed it more when the Marvel Live commentators gave up the ghost and they just played random music over it.  The camera man mostly did a good job, but at the end, Chris E and Jeremy were being dorky boys and grabbed some silver markers to sign the Scarlet Witch's hands, when the camera panned over to a woman interviewing James Spader (an interview we couldn't hear).  Not a good move Camera Man!

But my favorite moment from that came earlier.  Previous to the cast signing, they talked to Lou Ferigno about The Incredible Hulk.  He said he'd never met Mark Ruffalo.  When the Avengers first took the stage, there was Lou and Mark was totally geeking out.  It was ADORABLE. I actually achieved dolphin levels of squee.

And now Josh Brolin has been announced as Thantos which is awesome.  Not because Josh is an amazing actor who has done so many great things, but because he was Brand in The Goonies and now my original fandom and Avengers fandon will be forever intertwined.

It seems to me that when JARVIS addresses or refers to a person, the title and name are used (Ms. Potts, Agent Coulson...)  Here's what I need to know:

1) Does JARVIS exclusively refer to Tony as "Sir"?  If JARVIS is relaying information to Pepper about Tony is "Sir" still the name he would use?

2) How would JARVIS refer to Thor?  Given that on Asgard he's next in line for the throne, I would imagine JARVIS with his etiquette protocol would want to give him his title, but that seems awfully formal for life in the Tower (even for JARVIS).

3) At this point I'm running with JARVIS referring to Sam as "Sam Wilson" which is not a question.

ETA - 4) Thor also seems to be more formal, usually addressing people by their first and last names in conversation (Jane Foster, Eric Selweig...).  How would Thor address the other Avengers "off duty"?
