Date Night

Andy and I went on a well needed date last night. My brother Jayson bought tickets for the Forgotten Carols and somehow ended up buying two to many tickets.. So he invited Andy and I to come along! We had to stop in Clearfield to pick up a doll house for Andys sister... We pulled up to the ladies house thinking we would only be there for a second, put the doll house in the back of the car and be on our way to Salt Lake.. Well we were wrong, this doll house was HUGE!!! So Andy had to take the whole thing apart so we could get it in the car. After we finally got the doll house in the car we headed down to Salt Lake to meet up with Jayson and Jordan to go to dinner. We went to the Olive Garden and enjoyed a great meal then headed to the show.

Andy had never seen the Forgotten Carols so it was alot of fun to watch him during the show and to see what he thought of it. The show was great, besided the fact that the couple sitting next to me was making out the whole time!!! I love this time of year and love being able to spend time with my hubby!! I don't know what I would do without him. Thank you so much for the tickets Jayson and Jordan!!!

I'm back..

Well it has been forever again since I last posted anything. Sara told me that I really need to update my blog, so here you go! I feel like not much has happened, but then looking back we have been so busy!!!

Thanksgiving was really good this year. We were able to eat with Andys family and visited for awhile, we then met up with my family and got to visit with everyone. I love this time of year and the chance that we get to spend so much time with our families and friends.

I got a new job finally!!! I am now a housekeeper at the Crystal Inn. Its not the funnest job, I mean who really likes to clean!!! Not me!! But it really isn't a bad job at all. The worst part about the job is I have to work pretty much every weekend, so I have to miss church! I hate it!!! But I won't be there forever.

Well we have moved in with my parents.. We have health insurance through Andys work, but it is so super expensive. It was either pay for insurance or pay rent.. So we chose to move. It has been good for me, I have been able to help my mom out with the kids. It has kinda been hard for Andy though. I grew up in a huge family with lots of commotion and lots of noise, so I'm used to it. Andy on the other hand is the youngest of four kids and was for sure the baby of the family. We won't be here forever, but we are so grateful to both of our families for all the love and support they have for us.

Andy only has one more week of school this semester. He only has to take two more tests and then he will be all done. It will be a good break for him to have a couple weeks off to do just whatever.

Jumpin on the band wagon...

Well I don't know how it is going to happen.. I don't know how I'm going to get myself motivated.. But I've got to do something about it. I watched the Biggest Loser tonight and have decided I've got to get myself in shape both physically and mentally. At night I always lay in bed thinking.. ok tomorrow I'm going to wake up early, eat a good breakfast, clean my apartment, read my scriptures, go to the gym, come home get myself all cute and ready for the day and spend time with Andy, be a good wife and actually make dinner... Well let me tell ya, lately none of that has been happening. I have had a nasty cold the last week and have felt like crap so all I've wanted to do is be lazy and sleep it off.

Andy and I don't ever spend time at our apartment, we just sleep here. Any time I'm awake you can probably find me at my parents, and time Andy is awake he is working either at the pool or at Youth Track. You might think I'm joking, but I'm not!! Its pathetic. We eat dinner at our parents houses. I want to be a good wife and cook great dinners, but I hate being home alone, so I hate coming home to cook. Plus growing up in a big family, I don't know how to cook for just two people.

So having said all of this I need your help... I need some motivation to get healthy and skinny!!!! I need some motivation to make my apartment a place where I want to spend my time. I need some good ideas of fun stuff that Andy and I can do so we aren't such a boring couple! :o) I also need some good dinner ideas and recipes so I can be a good wife!

New Chapter

Ok so after looking over my blog a couple times I've decided that for now I am done complaining!! Life is never perfect for anyone, and looking at my life.. it could be so much worse!! I need to be grateful for what I have, and I am so grateful for my life. I'm so grateful for my family, for my friends, and for the gospel. I don't know what I would do without any of that.

I am still trying to find a job, I will do almost anything! Haha.. This week a counselor from our Bishopric came to our house and said that he has a new calling for me. I have now been called to be in the nursery! They have called four of us to be in there, but they want me to be in charge. I have to make sure that there is at least two of us there every week.. I'm kinda nervous, I love kids.. BUT I don't know how I will be able to handle a couple 18 mo to 3 year olds all at once!! Wish me luck!!

FLASH FLOOD......

You know the saying

"WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS!!!!"

Well they aren't joking. The saying should say..

"WHEN IT RAINS, BEWARE OF THE FLASH FLOOD!!!!"

It has been about a week since we heard the news, but my heart is finally ready to talk about it. (at least I thought I was ready. I just started bawling... but I'm going to finish this post darn it all!!!)

About a week ago the birthmom of the baby we were supposed to adopt sent us an e-mail saying that she has decided to keep the baby. So when I say "When it rains, it pours" let me number things off for you...
1. I got sick, the doctors couldn't find out what was wrong. After a number of tests, hospital visits, they still don't have an answer for me.
2. Because I was sick I ended up not going to work, so I lost my job.
3. I'm not getting my baby girl!!!!!!

I have been told by a number of doctors that right now I can't even think about getting pregnant because of my health. They don't know when or even if I will be able to. It just wouldn't be a good idea for myself or the baby. For those of you who have known me for even a little while you know that my whole life all I have wanted to be when I grow up is a mom. So when your doctor tells you that you might not be able to get pregnant with your own child, its like your heart is being ripped out of your chest. I know that adoption is out there, and I have planned on adopting my whole life. BUT.... I have always wanted to be able to get pregnant and have at least one of my own kids.

I know this isn't the end of the world, but right now for me is SUCKS!!!! I know that one day I will be a mother, and that day will be the happiest day of my life. It just isn't going to happen when I thought. But I promise I'll be alright, it will just take some time!! :o)

Why?

So I just need to complain for just a minute. The last two and a half months have been horrible!!! I have been sicker than a dog for most of it, running back and forth from the dr to the er and back again.. They still don't really know what is wrong with me. It has been so stressful. I don't think Andy realized life would be so crazy, and I don't know if he would have still picked me if he would have known... I am so grateful for him and for his patience.

On top of being sick I lost my job last Friday. I went in to work and my boss came over to me and said we needed to have a meeting. He told me that I had two choices, to either quit or get fired. Since I had missed so much work from being sick they had decided enough was enough.. So I asked a few questions about insurance and then decided to quit. So if anyone knows of anywhere hiring LET ME KNOW!!!

SORRY!!!

I know... it has been FOREVER!! Life has been kinda crazy the last couple months. Andy and I have both been super busy with work. Andy trying to juggle the pool and Youthtrack. And I've been keeping myself busy at Qwest.

I haven't been feeling so well for about two months. I finally went in to the doctor about a month ago and was told I had Illius, which is where my stomach pretty much just decided to stop working. I was super dehydrated so the doc sent me over to the hospital to get pumped full of IV fluids, they were hoping that would make everything start working again.. Well it didn't do anything. I was still sick and throwing up, so the dr put me on a couple different kinds of medicines, made me go in for xrays, ultrasounds, and cat scans.. (thank goodness for insurance) I have now gone in to another doctor and they say that my problems are from my addisons disease. They have increased my steroids and so far so good. I haven't thrown up for 3 days!! Which is a record.

We have some super exciting news for everyone!!!!! Andy and I are adopting a baby. :o) My little brothers birthmom came to us and told us that she is pregnant and asked us to take the baby. It took Andy a few weeks before he knew it was what we needed to do, but we figure with all my health issues it is something we can't pass up on. We went in for an ultrasound yesturday and found out that WE ARE HAVING A GIRL!!!!!!!! Andy has known all along that the baby was going to be a girl and I had my hopes up really high that it was a girl, but I wouldn't admit it until after we found out. We are so so excited. We know its crazy since we have only been married for a short time, but it is what we need to do and we can't wait for this new adventure in our lives!! The due date is December 31st, so we have a few short months to get all ready. We will keep everyone updated and informed!!!

Ok I admit it... I am Officially a slacker. Life has been so crazy ever since the wedding.

I started a new job at Qwest and work every day Monday through Friday from 9 to 6. (it is no fun growing up and having to get a real job!!) I then get home and most of the time Andy has dinner waiting and ready. We then get to spend about an hour together and then Andy has to go to bed so he can get up and be to work by midnight. Let me tell you... NO FUN!!! There are some days when I even get to see my husband.

Our wedding day was such a good day. You would think getting married in the middle of April it would be at least "ok" weather.. Well we had a BLIZARD!!!! I told Andy that if we had bad weather I would cry.. Well I didn't, I cried lots but not because of the weather. Haha.. We still haven't gotten our pictures from our photographer yet, she had a family emergency and said that I will get them this next weekend.. so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I have a few pictures that I will put up with this post, but they aren't from the wedding day.

This week so far

So Andy and I have had a very good week already, and it is only Wednesday. Tuesday Andy had an appointment to go meet with an apartment manager of an apartment just a couple blocks away from my parents. My cousin Marisa had said that earlier that day she had seen the manager outside of the apartment with another couple so that made us very nervous. I was at work and Andy text me and said the people took the For Rent sign down, I was freaking!! So I called him and asked what happened, asked if he went and met with them and he said yes but that they took the sign down. I started thinking the lady wasn't very nice for getting our hopes up, but then Andy said they took the sign down because the apartment is now OURS!!!!! Its not the nicest apartment, but it is cheap and we'll make it our own. :o) I'm so excited to have a place to call ours. Andy is going to move in this weekend.

Today I had a job interview at a place called Rise Inc. It is a company working with disabled kids. Well I was kinda nervous going into the interview. I've never had to interview with more than one person, well there were two ladies in the room. They were both drilling me like crazy, but I must have said something right cause I got the job!! I go in tomorrow to get everything started and my first real day is next Wednesday. So I'll be working both at Rise and at Sizzler.

Tomorrow we are going to go out and meet with Andy's grandma. She is going to be decorating our Reception. So we get to go over decorations. I'm super excited. Also.. Saturday morning I am going to the Logan temple to receive my Endowments. I have been waiting for this time my whole life. I'm so excited!!!!!

Andy and I were finally able to go get our Engagement pictures done this last weekend.. We had so much fun. It was freezing cold, but well worth it. We met our photographer up in Logan and went all over the place taking pictures. Our theme for the wedding is just fun bright and springy, so everything worked out perfectly. Here are some of my favorite pictures.. Sorry there are so many! :o)

update

Ok so I just need to admit.. I am a huge SLACKER! I look at blogs everyday, a couple times a day and I have lots to blog about.. but I haven't been able to get myself to actually sit down and blog. So here you go!

Andy and I have been looking for jobs for the last two months and weren't having much luck. We both had applied EVERYWHERE!!! At least thats what it felt like. I have been applying at both McKay Dee hospital and Logan Regional hospital just applying for any kind of jobs. I applied to be a housekeeper, cashier, receptionist, server. I kept getting e-mails back saying they had narrowed their choices down and I wasn't one of them.. I then had a friend tell me that his girlfriend could probably get me a job at a place called Rise. I applied there and so now I am just waiting to hear back from her. I then got a call today from Logan Regional hospital saying I have an interview tomorrow.. So wish me luck!! I'm not quite sure what job it is for, but anything will work. :o) Wish me luck!!!!! We just need benefits!! Andy finally got a job at Youthtrack, he works graveyards Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights and then swing shift Saturdays. He loves it. The kids are sleeping most of the time while he is there so he has a lot of free time to do homework and play video games.

We are going to get our Engagement pictures done this Saturday, as long as the weather works in our favor. I am super excited to get those done and get them back. We are just trying to get everything all planned and ready for the wedding. It has been kinda stressful, but now that Andy has a job and I will hopefully be getting one soon it has been like a weight lifted off our shoulders. We are just trying to find an apartment and a bed!! Haha. We have almost everything else that we need, but we are missing a bed! If anyone knows of someone getting rid of a Queen size bed, let us know! :o)
