I Can’t Beleive

Everyone decide to drop music made specifically for me these past few weeks. XD When I say I’m obsessed I mean obsessed. Hozier, Mette, and Key have all released music that are definitely going to end up on my Spotify Wrapped. They’re on my Autumn playlist, my birthday playlist, my playlist for one of my upcoming Amp shows…I can’t get enough!

I listened to the first song on the new Hozier album and cried, then I just couldn’t stop. XD By the time we got to Nth/Unknown…chile I still cry listening to it and that doesn’t really happen for me much. I feel like each song means something different every time I listen. I know people say that about a lot of media, but I’ve really only ever had that experience with music. Every time I listen I’m hearing something different and being moved in different ways.

Honestly, I expect this year to end on a rough note for me, or at least this month to be rough because whew…I didn’t think these retrogrades would retro the grade so hard but starting off the month with the visit from the Crimson Fleet is a sorry way to begin when everyone around you is losing their gadtdamn mind. I’m just gonna beleive in the seemingly divine timing of artists to make the right thing at the right time. XD I’ll be having these songs on repeat while I avoid jail.

Here We Go

First things first, if you haven’t watched Key’s new music video and checked out his album yet, get on that. I’m listening to it as I write this and honestly I’m in love already. (currently on Honest) Now on to what this post is really about.

As the year comes to a close I’ll be making a list of my top 18 favourite things to have come out of this year or I got into this year, much like I did last year. This has been an amazing year, at least for me, when it came to music and other creative expression so I am very happy to get started on my lists as soon as NaNoWriMo is done and I’m chilling. Whew. I was a bit ambitious this year (it’s too early to tell if I’ll win or not) but I’m very pleased with what I’ve gotten done and plan to focus on music related things next year to give me a break from the too many stories tumbling around in my head.

(just got to Imagine, oh boy, do I love Key this whole album is full of bops. Iconic at first release. Only Key 💋💋💋💙💖💙)

My plans for next year include a lot more singing and trying to get back into music and writing. I’ve always stepped my toes in, but I’ve often felt it all was just over my head and too complicated to go about trying to understand on my own (especially when it comes to technology, oh boy am I so technologically illiterate for someone born in the 90s). I’m hoping that I’ll be able to find ways to learn new things that fit closer with my own learning styles. I’m just someone who learns better in classroom environments, and with audio/visual help. Very much a, “I see it and I do it” type learner. It’s always wild to me how people can write lyrics and poetry. Honestly, I can’t wait to be one of those people, but it’s gonna be a bit until I figure it out. XD In the mean time I’ll just keep working on things and hope that I don’t get too discouraged and frustrated. Wordsmithing is hard. I wish it all came easy, but alas, not for I.

I’m just so excited for next year. Hopefully I’ll be very busy, in a good way. Hopefully I’ll have more time and content for blogging and be in better mind to write. This year was rough, but satisfying. Already ready to go into 2019 and get more stuff done!
