Winchester Action on the Climate Crisis
Winchester Action on the Climate Crisis (WinACC) is a local charity. We work to bring communities, Councils, organisations and people together in Winchester District to respond to the climate crisis and create positive, sustainable change.
‘The most important thing you can do for climate change is be part of the community tackling it‘ Alex Clayton, previous WinACC Chair of Trustees.
We’ve come up with six key areas where we can all make a difference. Click on the button right now to find out what you can do to help.
Cars, trains, fuels, cycling, walking, sustainable travel and flying.
Housing, home energy, solar farms, transport links, local plan, superhomes and retrofit.
Reducing fossil fuels, solar farms, hydrogen, nuclear, wind farms and renewable energy
Nature based solutions, land use, agriculture, rewilding and biodiversity.
Pensions, investments and spending wisely
Food, growing, water, plastic and waste.
Winchester Climate Action Network
We know from our research that people in Winchester District have much bigger carbon footprints than others living in the UK.
We believe that local action, for the global issue of climate change is vital.
Action on the climate crisis happens at individual, community and systemic levels.
