Winaero Tweaker is a free app for all versions of Windows that lets you adjust (i.e. tweak) hidden secret settings that Microsoft does not let you adjust from the user interface. In addition, it allows you to add extra value to existing Windows apps and tools with advanced context menus, options, and handy commands.

It is a powerful system utility that supports Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, and Windows 11 and includes hundreds of settings. It also includes many options that were earlier available exclusively in my standalone applications.

February Xbox Updates: Cloud Gaming at 1440p and New Features for ROG Ally

Microsoft released February updates for Xbox platforms. Xbox Cloud Gaming exited beta and now supports 1440p resolution with higher bitrate for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. Firefox 148 Released with AI Kill-off Switch

Mozilla has released Firefox 148, along with updates for long-term support versions 140.8.0 and 115.33.0, which concludes the 115.x series. The Firefox 149 branch will enter beta testing shortly, with a stable release scheduled for March 24. With Firefox 148, users can disable all AI features or activate specific functions like translation, text recognition, tab grouping, page summaries, and chatbot access. Each option supports enabled, disabled, or blocked states.

For Insiders with the latest updates toggle enabled, the context menu now displays the default application icon when users right-click.exe,.bat, or.cmd files and select Open. The Settings app home page features a redesigned Device Details card. This change simplifies key device characteristics display and improves visual consistency with Settings, System, About. And more.

Microsoft Adds Image Support to Notepad for Windows 11

Mozilla Ends of Firefox 115 ESR Support for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1

Mozilla updated its Firefox support documentation for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 platforms. The company confirmed February 24 as the publication date for the final Firefox 115 ESR release. After this date, Mozilla will not issue further updates for this branch.
