I know it has been forever since I have updated. I've thought about it but most of the time I needed to bitch and I wanted the next update to not be full of self-indulgent whining. LOL

So let's see- home is fine, kids driving me batty but all in all good :)

Work is crazy and I need to take more time off before I turn into a psychopath.

I'm going to be speaking at the Tucson Festival of Books next month. I'm excited but super nervous. Thankfully it's on creativity, so I can bullshit how to be creative.

I am going to Dragon Con!!!! My friend and I were debating Comic Con but the lines are just too crazy long, so this year we'll be at Dragon Con- anyone else going???

I pulled Phoenix Child off the shelves to do another round of edits- I found a lot of mistakes once I saw it in paperback format. pro to traditional publishing you can mess with it once its out there you must move on. Anyway, I'm working on a new editing routine for future books. I'm imagine scantly clad grammar slaves, but most likely it'll be me reading and re-reading my MS in multiple formats.

So how is everyone else??? Any exciting news?

I missed all of you so much!!! OMG I have to behave myself everwhere else and I feel like I can't breath half of the time.

Life is good- both of my kids are bigger then I am, boy child is going to an expensive private school- thank god for scholarships! Girl child is on the verge of getting kicked out of school because the principal is an ass and she is standing up for herself, other kids, and the teacher! I'm proud of her- we can always home school again- and as long as she doesn't start shit with him I'm fine.

Book one is done, edited and soon to be formatted for e-books. Hubby is almost done painting my cover- squee! It's hard to believe that there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel, man this has been a huge project!

Book two is written and being critiqued by my awesome critique group.

I'm still working at the group home- right now I have 4 boys with ADD/ADHD/ Autism Spectrum issues/ Pervasive Developmental Disorder- and a bunch of other crap. They take a huge amount of time and I feel like we're surviving every day instead of me actually helping them.

When I'm not working or writing then I'm on social media blogging tweeting and stuff trying to build an authors platform. Which means that I have to watch what I post and how I respond to posts and be good- yuck.

For those you you who do write original fiction I want to offer the opportunity to come and either guest post on my blog or be interviewed. I don't care what you write- there's being good and pretending to be someone I'm not and I'm not willing to go that far. I have an average of 30 people per day looking at my blog- although yesterday it was over 100 :) Anyway you all have been so supportive of my and my writing that I want to give something back- even if it is just a little something.

I need to hang out around here more- to have fun, unwind, and be myself. Because no where else that I hang out could I say that I want to jump into bed naked with you all and lick everyone.

Sorry I've been gone so long- RL has been crazy busy and I've been focusing on my original fiction writing and when I'm here I spend far to much time reading you're guys wonderful stories!!

I'm still a house parent for kids in foster care- OMG some of the kids I've had have made me want to tear out my hair! One was so bad for three weeks I couldn't write because I was so upset and frustrated and couldn't think of anything else.

Okay so for some exciting news I'm going to self publishing my YA book Phoenix Child this fall. My hubby is painting my cover- I'll post it once it's finished and I get the photo taken. And my editor only has four more chapters to fix. I need to figure out how to format my book for POD and Kindle but my goal is Oct 3 because I'm part of a YA panel mid October. I'm 3/4 of the way through book 2- which is going much faster then the first book.

I'm hoping to pop in now and then and read some lovely fics and update every one on my book. I have all for you to thank, without your feed back and support for Gypsy Caravan I wouldn't have even tried to write my own book. So thank you so much!!

I want to put together a basket for my writers group to encourage more exotic in the erotic and romance books. I am looking for a photography book of lovely men from around the world. I’ve found plenty with white men- I think I have something I want to collect now- but few have men of any color and those that do it’s only one or two men. So does anyone know of a book with sexy naked men that are different races? I’ll even take one with pictures of men and woman.

We’ll start with the bad-ish news first, then end on a high note- LOL.

I didn't make it into the one bite contest although I'm not surprised I didn't feel my story was that strong, but it was good to put something out there. I'm thinking of extending it- now that I don't have a word limit- and seeing if I can get it published.

I got my score sheets from the Florida writing contest and I was right the poor editing killed me. One of the judges gave me tens in every category except mechanics, which I got a one in. The other judge gave me sixes- not great but not bad- and in her comments I could see how I would have scored higher had the grammar not been a problem- it messed up the pacing and dialog for her. So I cried, and pouted, and had a good sulk. Now I’m looking at their comments and seeing how I can improve my story, at least the comments I agree with. J

I’m taking a query letter writing class and already sent in a query letter to the critiqued by Susan Ginsberg- and I’m going to pitch to her in Nov!!!! Very exciting and I’m sure I will learn a lot.

I have three classes I’m looking at taking: one on steampunk, one on writing realistic gay characters, and one on the eleven senses. The one on gay characters and the eleven senses over laps- I totally bombed on taking three at a time, but I’m thinking I might give these two a try as they are so interesting.

I only have four chapters of hard copy edits to put into the computer then I’m done with the first book except for sending it to my critique group. So I’m going to do NaNoWriMo and work on book two plus other ideas that are bouncing around in my head. My goal is to get back into the creative flow of writing and out of the editing revision mode.

1- I did not get picked for the One Bite Contest, which I’m a little sad about, but I didn’t feel like my short story was really strong. New plan is to rework it, now that I don’t have a word count limit, and submit it to some of the on line publishers.
2- I finished hard copy edits on my first book, and I’m transferring one chapter a day onto the computer. I started on book 2, which went well for 6 pages until I needed to do some research on South America- Argentina is beautiful and huge! Big mistake I made thinking of South America as having “A” culture and past, each country and region is very diverse. I spent all weekend reading and watching travel shows on South American countries- and I think I have it figured out.
3- I need to write a query letter for book one- and turn in it to be critiqued. I have never written one before so I’m very nervous.
4- I need to update my facebook- I now have three a personal account, and two author accounts one for each genre. I need to try and upkeep them better if I’m going to bother having them!
5- This month I’m taking a class on lying for writers- as in how to show physical tells that your characters are lying (should be fun) and at the end of the month I’m taking a query letter writing class which I’m very excited about!!!

I think that’s it. Hope everyone else is doing well.
