Two months
Assalammualaikum π
Baby Iqbal is two months old today!!! π β₯ Mama Babah love you Sayang!!!
Let’s see.. What shall we talk about Baby Iqbal today? ;p Ohh his development and milestones! π
In the last two months, once Baby Iqbal caught heat rash (and was told by mom’s Doc that he might have a mild eczema). How did we treat the rash?
- bought Curash powder with cornstarch – didn’t really work but works on his nappy rash
- boiled daun peria and use the water for his bath – it works! the rash reduced after about more than 5 baths :p
- used the aqueous cream given by the Doctor – works on his dry skin
He also hadΒ cradle cap! We tried both coconut virgin oil and Johnson&Johnson’s baby oil (aloe vera & vit E). Put the oil after his bath, leave it on for 10mins (or less like Hubs did! He’ll just scratch Baby Iqbal’s head) then brush his hair/ head. It works like magic!
This is baby milestone chart I got from Baby Center website. Let’s see how’s Baby Iqbal is progressing. Keep in mind, every baby is unique so their milestone are not always the same. This is merely a guide.
Based from the chart above, Alhamdulillah Baby Iqbal can do most of the things listed above except lifts and holds his head. Belum pandai bertiarap pun! Hehe.. We tried to put him on his tummy but he couldn’t even lifts his head nor turn to the other side. Lol! It was hilarious watching him tried..
We love hearing him ooohhs aaahhs, grunts (haha), his cries are different now – sleepy, hungry, refusing, asking for attention, so cute and adorable! He tried to talk to us too, even more adorable that we couldn’t stop laughing and talk to him back! π
His next Doctor’s appointment is next month, 1st for another jab and 13th to see the Doctor. I can’t wait to see how much he has grown.. Although we’re guessing he’s about 5kgs now. We can’t wait to see Baby Iqbal grows healthily. Mama Babah love you Dear Son!Β β₯
Cloth Diapering at Six weeks
Remember this post hereΒ where I was prepared and ready to cloth diaper my baby from the day he’d come home? I am sad to update that I have failed my mission but I have learn few things from the day we began our cloth diapering journey.
I felt sad everytime we put on the disposable diapers and when I look at those flats and diaper covers being unused. I hate it that we had to buy the disposables every week. Truthfully speaking, I am not a green girl but looking at the trash can full with dipes and wipes really have made me think!
I first put on the flats – where I fold them like an insert, and BBH nappy cover to Baby’s bum. I smiled and thought to myself, I can definitely do this! π I was really happy looking at how his dipes now in colours and free from chemicals. Since it was my old flats, the size is perfect to the newborn size cover.
I was happy experimenting with how many hours can he soaks his flats and the Flip stay dry inserts. With flats, he usually soaks within 1 hour and Flip with 2 hours. If he poops, I’ll change him to new diaper because the covers always get dirty with his blowouts everytime. Lol! I just handwash the covers, easier as we only have two or three rotating daily.
It has been 2 weeks since we started cloth diapering and I enjoy changing his cloth diapers now. Weird, I know! We are still using disposables for his bedtime. I am glad the the disposable packs now last longer as we only use a few daily except when we’re going to my inlaws. Definitely going to buy wetbags and add more cloth diapers in our stash hehe.. π
Here are his pictures when we wears his cloth diapers π
New Resolution
I hope it is not too late to wish everyone here ‘Happy New Year 2012’ π
Since it’s our first New Year Eve with Baby Iq, we brought him to Iman’s place in Birau. PIL kindly held a barbecue for their family to gather and enjoy the night. For the record, it was Baby Iq first car ride and we went straight to Birau (excluding to the clinic that is). It went very well as baby slept his eyes off most of the journey. Haha π
Ok, back to the title. My new resolution this year among other things include to breastfeed Baby Iq as long as I can (at least for a year) and fully cloth diapering him. We did successfully during daytime on 1st Jan (Yayyy!!!) and hope that I’ll be able to continue. Also,Β I hope to be the best mom for him and the best wife for Iman.Β Insya Allah.. π
