Is your subconscious perverse as heck? Can you barely close your eyes without images of fisting dancing across your head? Would you like to share writing or art based upon these dreams? Well look no further because we are right here, ready and waiting.
~*~SUBMISSION GUIDELINES~*~
Thanks for your interest in submitting to falling/f*cking/flying! We’re really excited to read through a bunch of submissions from rad lady and non-binary queers! Woohoo, go team!
We’re looking for stories about sex dreams. We all have them, and they exist at varying degrees of funny, dark, morbid, weird, and hot. While we are very down with porn so yeah go ahead and submit that, we are also looking for more nuanced pieces answering such questions as: what did your sex dream tell you about yourself? what did your sex dream tell you about others? did your sex dream totally come true? was it recurring? Et cetera. More or less, we’ve all had sex dreams, so what is unique about this one?
We accept comic, art, and writing submissions! If you send art, please do us the favor of sending hi-res scans, and keep in mind that the zine size is 8.5"x11" folded in half, so try to keep your art submissions at 8.5"x5.5" and at least 300 dpi.
Falling/F*cking/Flying is a DIY project, so we unfortunately can’t pay writers much, but we do offer $10 and 2 contributor copies to all contributors. If you run a distro or want to sell the collection or tours, we are also willing to give you copies at cost. We believe artists deserve to get paid for their work and that it’s a non-negotiable fact, so, while we are sorry we can’t pay more, we hope that arrangement can suffice as this is also a labor of love for us.
This zine is for queer women, trans women, non-binary people, and any mixture of those things. (No TERFs or SWERFs, thanks~) If this applies to you and you are interested in sharing, please submit to [email protected] Deadline for submissions is Chaka Khan’s birthday, aka March 23rd, 2016.Uh yeah so like then there’s this.
As a person and not just a number, what aspects of your life and humanity do you feel are disregarded in the administrative decision making process?
There’s a model at work in this country: corporate types manufacture a crisis, claim the only way to fix it is to let business take over. It’s all about the numbers, they tell us, but they’re very careful about how they construct the numbers. We’re told the current crisis has to do with a 7% budget shortfall. They keep repeating the number $9M because it sounds impressive. There are many ways to reduce the budget, but they don’t choose them. They rush the process, keep people in constant confusion and stress, and hope no one questions their numbers — and refuse to listen when people do. It’s an ideological takeover. As citizens in a democracy, we have every reason to worry about this particularly in education, where our freedoms are being systematically undermined.
Systematic corportisation of education.
