*blows dust off journal*

Yeah, it's been a while, hasn't it? (about a year and four months since my last post, but who's counting?)

*waves to anyone who is still following*

I've been actively reading here even if I have sucked at posting.

Let's see, a brief catch up on the last year and four months.

Brief being a relative termCollapse )

PandemicCollapse )

There's a lot more indepth I kinda want to go into on the above subjects (and maybe others), but this is probably long enough for now. I'll finish with something I did today purely because it made me happy.

Today I painted my nails for the first time in 14 yearsCollapse )It's silly, but I take what little bits of happiness I can get right now.

Hope everyone is staying safe.

The Snowflake challenge continues....

Day 2

Rec at least three fanworks that you didn’t create. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it.

I've been jumping around AO3 and reading a lot of older fic lately so a couple of these reflect that:

Sanctuary by DiscontentedWinter (Teen Wolf, Rated M, Peter/Stiles)

Summary:

The Hale Wolf Sanctuary isn’t just for wolves.

It turns out it’s for Stilinskis as well.

Why I like it:

This is an AU with a live Hale family and a Stiles who is dealing with the physical and emotional fallout of an attempt on his life (which happens before the story starts). It's a story about healing first and foremost and that is what drew me to it.

The Timeline Series by Unforgotten (X-Men Movies, Rated M, Charles/Erik)

Summary (of the first story):

After Magneto of an X2-ish future succeeds in the unthinkable, Charles sends his consciousness back to 1962 to guide Erik away from the path that will lead to the genocide of the human race forty years hence.

Charles knows that Erik has always loved him, and intends to use this knowledge + sex to seduce Erik away from his ideals in his youth.

There's no way this well-thought-out, sensible, debugged and 100% bulletproof plan can possibly go wrong.

Why I like it:

This is a time travel fix-it fic which is one of my bullet proof kinks. It's a time travel fix-it fic with a rather oblivious pov character and a good deal of quiet humor, but still manages to have some pretty poignant moments.

And my last rec is a wip but one that is updating weekly. And also the first one I thought of when I started thinking of what to rec:

There's A Ghost in My Lungs by QueenWithABeeThrone (Critical Role (campaign 2), rated T, Mollymauk/Caleb)

Summary:

Silence falls over the battleground. A mage lies dead on the ground, and Jester’s already propping him up onto a rock and prodding his cheek with her holy symbol. She’d be here with Molly too, if Caleb hadn’t shouted at her to stay back verdammt Jester stay back and shot off a firebolt to keep a snarling tiefling from trying to kill them.

Ikithon, he thinks, sick to his stomach at the thought. This is Ikithon’s work, it has his signature written all over it. He doesn’t dare ask Jester to undo it. He doesn’t even know where she can start, with undoing whatever’s been done to Molly.

or: The Winter Soldier, Wildemount edition.

Why I like it:

Molly was one of my favorite characters in the Mighty Nein and this fic ticked all the boxes I had for a fix-it. It's more of a Mighty Nein found family fic than just a romance fic and it's giving me everything I wanted in hurt and comfort amongst all the characters. It just... it makes me happy and I'm always gleeful when I see another chapter's been posted.

So I obviously failed horribly at getting back into posting here daily last month. It got to the point where I just gave myself permission to slack on this until the beginning of the year because that seemed like a good jumping off point to get back on the horse (to mix my metaphors horribly.)

I don't do New Year's Resolutions per se, they've never really worked for me. What I do do now is something someone (can't remember who for sure) on my flist a while back talked about. Where you pick a one word description for what you want to focus on improving over the year instead of making specific resolutions.

The word I chose for 2019 is "connection". I've fallen into bad habits of just reading/watching instead of participating in conversations, situations, social media or even real life interactions and I really want to break those. Speak up, interact, provide my own creative works, etc. Just connect instead of just passively observing.

So part of trying to focus on that I hope will be to post here more regularly and interact with others here and on other people's posts. (And leave comments more on fic I read or vids I watch, as well as getting back into writing more fic myself)

Hopefully this won't turn into me feeling like I'm yelling into an empty room. *grin*

And I'm attempting the snowflake challenge, again in an effort to stop being so much of a passive observer:

Day 1

In your own space, talk about your Happy Place—the things that give you joy, calms you or keeps you sane. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

The first thing that springs to mind as an answer is the things I'm fannish about. The episodes, scenes, moments, that make me fall in love with something are Happy Places for me. Stuff I go back and wallow in when I need cheering up or an injection of joy or comfort. This can apply to well loved fanfic and vids as well.

Critical Role is a big part of that kind of happy place now and when I've had a really bad day I will just jump into the archive of past eps and go from favorite moment to favorite moment until I feel better.

So tonight was a work get together for dinner and a cookie exchange. The company had had a Christmas party a few weeks ago which I had planned to go to but didn't for reasons that boil down to social anxiety is a bitch. But tonight was just people from my store so it was much easier to handle.

The restaurant we went to was one that's been around since I was a kid, but I hadn't been there in years (not since they served me raw chicken in my chicken parm because yikes). Tonight the food was good and plentiful and reasonably priced. So the restaurant may have made its way off my shit list finally.

I like almost all my coworkers (there's one notable exception but she was sitting at another table so I didn't have to interact with her much) so it was good conversation that flowed freely with people I actually like talking to.

And now I have 60 Christmas cookies in 10 varieties (probably closer to 70 in 11 varieties if I count the leftovers of the type I made (chocolate chow mein cookies  ) so at least my festive homemade goodies needs are taken care of?

But it was... nice. I think I'd like to do more social things. I've got out of the habit of it the last couple of years. That might be something to work on in for the new year.

So Thursday night/Friday, I watched (and rewatched and re-rewatched and re-re-rewatched and... well you get the idea) the new Critical Role intro with lots of joyful flailing. I also watched (and rewatched once or twice, there wasn't really enough there to watch too many times) the teaser for Dragon Age with anticipatory glee.

And I watched the Avengers 4 trailer and went... meh.

I don't really feel very attached to the MCU fandom anymore, the last movie MCU movie I watched was Black Panther and I didn't get past the second or third ep of Agents of SHIELD. The last Netflix MCU thing I watched was Jessica Jones s2. (And I will watch any future seasons of JJ) I am planning on going to see Captain Marvel (now that trailer made me squee) and if they do end up bringing the X-Men into the MCU I'll probably get drawn back in because X-Men, but beyond that I'm just not really feeling it any more.

I think part of it is I may be emotionally pulling away before they can kill/destroy any of the characters and/or relationships I have latched onto. And partially for the same reason I quit collecting comics, and then quit again after the MCU got me started again. The stories don't feel like about the characters any more so much as the specatcles -- the big multi title epic crossover EVENTS that are all DIRE and UNIVERSE ALTERING all without letting the characters and their own stories and growth have the space to breathe. The MCU movies are starting to feel just like those comic Events (usually every summer and sometimes other seasons as well) with even less (read ANY) downtime between them.

I may watch/read and even enjoy some of these Events, but it's the quieter character moments that make me fannish about stuff. Without them it's just empty popcorn watching fodder.

That being said, I did spend a good portion of this weekend reading through some of the Steve/Tony recs that [personal profile] destina posted so while I may be meh about current canon, I still have a soft spot for the characters and relationships as interpreted by fandom, so there is that at least.

I only get to watch Critical Role live every other Thursday because I I alternate closing the store either Thursday and Friday or Saturday and Sunday. When I do close I usually don't make it home until 11:30 which puts me an hour and a half behind and I usually only manage to make it to the break when I'm that far behind.

This week I'm closing on Thursday and Friday so was an hour and a half behind (and I'm grateful that last week was a week I got to watch live because that ep was so crazy good!). Now add on the almost extra half hour I spent just watching and rewatching the new opening credits for the show and I probably won't even make it to the break tonight.

Man, this show. I can't remember the last time I was so happy by just getting a new opening for something. Granted, this just feeds the yearning for an actual animated show of Vox Machina's or the Might Nein's adventures. Which maybe isn't as far fetched an idea as it first appears?

Anyway, now that I've posted something today, going to go back to the ep and see if I can make it to the break before I collapse for the night.

(and I really need to get some CR icons (preferably Molly if only one) if I'm going to be talking about it. Which I probably will be.)

Wow, it's really cool to have to actually go to the next page to read all the new posts on my reading list. I mean, it was just going one page, but still.

And hey here I am, posting two days in a row. Shock! Not sure if this is going to end up being a post with any meaningful content but at least it's a post?

Most of the stuff people are talking about is not unsurprisingly the whole tumblr tire fire thing.

And I'm sad about the loss of a lot of people's work and main fannish interaction place, but I think I've just lived through enough Fandom migrations, both voluntary and reaction to past tire fire situations, that I have full confidence that Fandom will end up somewhere else.

Even if, like the icon says, there's no going home, that doesn't mean you can't find a new home and Fandom is really good at that. The wheel keeps turning, but Fandom as a whole will keep rolling, even if they have to find new roads to roll on.

And wow, my lurking instead of posting for so long means my icons are like two main fannish obsessions behind...

I know it's been close to forever since I posted -- I've still been here reading, but got out of the habit of posting. And once out of the habit, it was hard to pick back up again.

But seeing all the influx from tumblr has sorta pushed me enough to make the effort.

So, uh, hi. I'm still around, still fannish. Critical Role is the fandom consuming most of my attention lately but I do still watch/read/fool around with writing a lot of my older fandoms too.

I'd make this a longer post but it is late and if I wait, I will probably just not post at all. So more hopefully tomorrow?

A Higher Perspective (161434 words) by Wolfling, omphalos
Chapters: 14/14
Fandom: Dragon Age: Inquisition, Dragon Age II, Dragon Age - All Media Types, Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening, Dragon Age (Novels)
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Anders/Male Hawke, Fenris/Dorian Pavus
Characters: Male Hawke, Anders (Dragon Age), Justice (Dragon Age), Fenris (Dragon Age), Dorian Pavus, Varric Tethras, Cole (Dragon Age), Solas, Cassandra Pentaghast, Iron Bull, Connor Guerrin, Felix Alexius, Carver Hawke, King Alistair (Dragon Age), Leliana (Dragon Age), Josephine Montilyet, Cullen Rutherford
Additional Tags: Alternate Canon, Epic, Canon-Typical Violence, What-If, Fix-It of Sorts, Bad Latin Masquerading as Tevine, cast of thousands
Series: Part 2 of Inquisitor Hawke
Summary:

Anders watched as Hawke took up the truly ridiculously large sword Leliana offered, and he listened as Hawke said a few words about standing with them as a mage, not over them, and showing them a new way. Then Cullen incited the crowd below into loud cheering as Hawke raised the sword heroically over his head.

And there, with every eye upon him, that was when Hawke's gaze sought for and found Anders, grinning at him like a child who had just done something terribly clever that would probably get them both into awful trouble.

And Anders couldn’t help but grin right back.

So the entire second story in the Inquisitor Hawke series is now up! This takes us up to the end of the battle at Adamant. The next story is nearly finished though we'll have to edit it after that so it will probably be at least a few weeks or so before it will be ready to go.

The tiny creature met his gaze solemnly for a long moment then her tiny mouth opened in a yawn. "Aw." Bull grinned, enchanted. "Look at all those sharp teeth. You're going to be dangerous when you grow up aren't you?"

Dorian couldn't hold back a snort of disbelief. "Dangerous? That thing is literally a ball of fluff with eyes."

Bull acquires a kitten. Dorian doesn't find this endearing. Not at all.

And I just realized I never posted a link to this here so here, have some unashamedly fluffy Adoribull fluff.

This came about from me idly thinking one day "what if Hawke became the Inquisitor?" and casually mentioning the idea to Imageomphalos. Roughly a year and close to 400,000 words (and still counting!) later, we finally ready to share the first part of the results.

Writing with Omphalos is always a joy. This story has consumed so much of my creative energy in the past year and I've been having so much fun with this 'verse (and am continuing to do so -- we are only roughly maybe halfway through the full story we want to tell), I can't even begin to tell you. Hopefully you'll get as much enjoyment out of reading it as I am getting out of writing it.

So yuletide reveals have happened and I can now talk about the fic I wrote:

Arm's Reach (2666 words) by Wolfling
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Zachary Foxx, Shane Gooseman, Niko (Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers), Walter Hartford
Additional Tags: episode coda
Summary:

Zachary's arm may be as good as new, but that doesn't mean there aren't after effects. A coda for the episode Rogue Arm.

I was obsessed with Galaxy Rangers back when the show first aired in this area (1987, yes I am old, shut up). I wrote copious amount of fic for it, most of which was a weird amalgamation of bad melodrama of the soap opera type and fluff, a good deal of that self-insert, and pretty much all of which was horrible. The kind of thing that leaves me very thankful that this was all before the internet was a thing so there's no lasting evidence of this point in my development as a writer.

Rewatching the series (and seeing some eps that I have no memory of having seen before) with an eye to writing fic for it was interesting. To my relief I still enjoyed the show, (rewatching things that I'd loved when I was significantly younger has not always turned out that way) and had a few ideas right off the bat. What was interesting to me though was that most of these ideas either focused on Zachary Fox or were in his pov. Back when I watched the show before Zach had been my least favorite character and I wrote him in as little as possible so to find him the focal point of my ideas now was bemusing.

When it came to the actual writing, I think the past experience I had writing the characters helped, even if it was over 25 years ago. All the voices came easily, it felt like I was getting the characters right and then it was just a matter of making sure the plot made some sort of sense.

I got a flaily Kermit gif as a comment from my recepient so I'm taking that to mean I succeeded.

Also the first kudos on the fic was from [personal profile] james which I found hilarious because we've written so much together though never anything Galaxy Rangers. Which, considering how easy it would've been to turn Goose into a centaur...

All in all it was a really positive experience (and I got a Star Wars Rebels fic as my gift which made me squee!) so I'll probably try and do Yuletide again next year.

Star Wars and Dragon Age are doing a good job of monopolizing my muse right now, but I might even go back and write one of the other Galaxy Ranger ideas I had eventually. Hopefully before another 25 years goes by.

********

1. Your main fandom of the year? Dragon Age. I not only adored Inquisition and all the new characters introduced, but that brought back my love of older characters full force. I've been reading sooo much Dragon Age fic this past year. And many many hours have been spent playing and replaying not only Inquisition but the other games as well. I haven't actually posted any fic in it yet but Omphalos and I've written probably about 300k words in an inquisition au. Which... even though it's not finished, we probably at this point should start thinking about beginning to edit and post because that is soooo many words.

2. Your favourite film watched this year? Star Wars The Force Awakens. To anyone who's known me for any length of time, this should come as no surprise. I've always counted Star Wars as my first serious fandom. I've loved the story and character and universe since I was 10 years old. It's never really let me go. Han/Leia was my first OTP. I admit to being skeptical when they first announced they were making new movies and that JJ Abrams was directing it, but as we got our first glimpses of the trailers for the movie, I began to get cautiously excited. And then I watched the Star Wars comicon panel and heard Abrams talk about Star Wars and I let go of the caution. The way he talked, he got Star Wars in a way he didn't seem to get Star Trek. I knew, walking into TFA that it was going to be amazing. It turned out to be even better than I imagined. I've seen the movie twice and only now am starting to get fic writing urges in it, but I expect that's only the beginning.

3. Your favourite book read this year? Is one that isn't officially out yet. Gentleman Jole and the Red Queen – by Lois McMaster Bujold, the latest book in the Vorkosigan series. I got an ARC from the Baen site. It was an utter and complete delight. The slow dawning realization I had in the first chapter that what I thought they were talking about was actually what they were talking about and how that shifted so much of what had happened before was one of the most delightful experiences I can remember having when reading a book. Also, if I felt at all capable of writing fic in this 'verse I would be inspired to write soooo much based on the revelations herein.

4. Your favourite TV show of the year? There's been a few shows I've really enjoyed, but the one that gave me the most sheer delight watching is a freaking cartoon. Star Wars Rebels. I hadn't sought it out when it first started airing, but then Settai made her Star Wars Rebels vid Odds Are for vividcon and I had to at least watch the pilot. ...and then mainlined the rest of season 1 in two days. Yes, it's a cartoon, but it's Star Wars and I will always be more prone for falling for Star Wars canons than any other fandom. And it hits so many of my bullet proof loves it's not funny. Also it took an idle thought I had when watching Revenge of the Sith back when it was released and answered it with a resounding yes and one of my favorite characters in the whole canon.

I'd like to be able to give a much more sophisticated and mature show as my fave for the year, but nope it's the cartoon. I swear I am a grown up. Really.

5. Your favourite online fandom community of the year? I don't know if I could point at one. I spent a lot of my fannish time on tumblr because that seems to be where fandom is concentrated, but things get wanky there so fast and with such vitriol that I find it hard to completely engage. I'm just too damn old to get excited or outraged at most of the drama any more. I've seen it all before.

6. Your best new fandom discovery of the year? Star Wars Rebels, see above. Between that and the Force Awakens I see a resurgence of the 'verse of my first fannish love.

7. Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year? When Supernatural killed Charlie, and not only killed her but pretty much did so in a text book fridging sort of way. I had been actually really enjoying the season up to then and they had been tentatively earning my trust back in the way they dealt with Claire storyline, but after the way they handled Charlie its shattered for good. I still watch the show and probably will until it finishes because I still really like the people involved in it, but my fannish days for it are over.

Following a close second would be the first half of s5 of Teen Wolf having seemed to go out of its way to make up a plotline involving so many things that are squicks of mine. I still haven't watched the last two eps of it. I'm planning on doing so when there's a bit of the second half of s5 to watch immediately where hopefully the things that are actively squicking me are resolved. But I've so enjoyed the show up to this point, it was extremely disappointing to see a season that was so made of things I personally DNW.

8. Your TV boyfriend of the year? Kanan Jarrus. There would be added competition if we added movies and video games, but tv, yeah.

9. Your TV girlfriend of the year? Melinda May.

10. Your biggest squee moment of the year? Hm. There were a few things that popped to mind, but the winner would be watching the opening scrawl to the familiar John Williams music in the Force Awakens. I legit teared up. I was not expecting it to affect me that strongly, but once a Star Wars fangirl, always a Star Wars fangirl it seems.

11. The most missed of your old fandoms? Probably would have to go with Supernatural just because I still see bits of it pass my dashboard/friends page on a fairly regular basis. It was my main fandom for so long it's hard to let go entirely.

12. The fandom you haven’t tried yet, but want to? Don't know. Nothing pops to mind.

13. Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year? Nothing pops to mind, but I guess we'll see what the year brings. :D

So just got my yuletide assignment and for the first time ever I actually matched on two fandoms. I actually had read this person's yuletide letter when I was browsing through them last night and had an idea I might get matched with them so I'm amused though not surprised. Also already have an idea of what I want to write, just need to do a canon review to get the details in hand to plot it out.

This is definitely something I'm looking forward to for many reasons that I will probably babble on about when I don't have to keep what I'm writing a secret. :D

So yeah, got side tracked the last few days pouring out my thoughts/possible plot bunnies for post Inquisition fics (in a private doc, we'll see if anything comes of it) and didn't get around to the meme so I'm going to answer a couple of them today.

Questions and links to previous days' answers under the cutCollapse )

11 – Genre – do you prefer certain genres of fic when you're writing? What kind do you tend to write most?

Oh most definitely. I gravitate to fix-it fics especially, some h/c, with the emphasis very much on comfort, schmoop and fluff (I have actual queen of schmoop icons after all), long epic AUs, ones that spring from asking one what if, and following it to the logical conclusion, and ones that are set in totally different worlds. I like the latter because of the challenge of matching the characters and canon events to the world in a way that the characters are still very recognizably themselves. I also like writing missing scenes or character beats that hopefully could be canon that we just didn't see.

But yes, if I had to pick one thing only I could write, it would have to be fix-its, those fics where something goes wrong in canon and I fix it, as the term might suggest. It's like doing h/c except the hurt comes already provided. I like to say I read far too many fairy tales as a child and I demand my characters get their happily ever after, dammit.

12 – Have you ever attempted an "adaptation" fic of a favorite book or movie but set in a different fandom?

Y'know I've wracked my brains and I don't think I ever have, not that has ever reached the finished and posted stage. I've done amalgamation fics – Destiny's Bond was taking the characters and concepts from the Sentinel and twisting them to fit in the Stargate universe. And I started at one point a fic that actually melded Quantum Leap and Star Wars canon together in a way that was not as out there as it first sounds like it should be (and I'm still very sad I never got much beyond the teaser for it written because I freaking loved the concept I came up with for it).

There were a couple of times I started planning fics like that – I had an outline at one point for a Sentinel version of Tam Lin, but it never got beyond that. And I had an idea to do a J2 fic based on the hockey movie The Miracle, but although I can read some rps now apparently I still can't bring myself to write it.

Oh! Wait, there was the one ep I worked on for the Angel virtual season, that had the characters trapped in Bogart movies. That isn't quite what the question is asking about, but it's probably the closest.

I just... I like the idea of doing an actual adaptation set in a different fandom sometimes, but it never seems to actually gel when I attempt it. I can riff off the ideas and see where it takes me, but a straight adaptation just doesn't seem to be something I can do.

10 – Pairings – Have you ever gone outside your comfort zone and written a pairing you liked, but found you couldn't write, or a pairing you didn't like, and found you could?

I'm trying to think if there's been any instances I can recall... I know that occasionally there's a character whose voice is distinctive enough while being different enough from my own that I feel a little daunted attempting to write them – like Spike from Buffy. I prided myself at being able to slip into British speak fairly easily for a non-Brit but Spike for some reason always seemed to throw me right off. I felt confident in that I got the way he thought, it was just his voice -- the way he talked, the way he phrased things that I had problems wrapping my mind around. So I tended to avoid fic ideas where I would have had to write him. Although I did enough co-writing in Buffy fandom that I have written various pairings in which Spike is a participant even though I didn't personally write his dialogue/thoughts so I'm not sure if that counts for an answer to this question.

As for the opposite, I have written a few things that are not pairings I myself like, as intellectual exercises, or for challenges or fests. The example that popped into my head when I read the question was I wrote Dawn/Buffy thing for Secret Slasha, which was so totally not my thing, but I think it turned out pretty well.

9 – Pairings – For each of the fandoms from day two, what are your three favorite pairings to write?

I'm not sure how many of these fandoms I have three favorite pairings in, but let's go through the list and see.

The Sentinel – Yeah, this is a single pairing fandom. It's all about the Jim/Blair. No other pairings need apply. (I did quite like Megan but I don't think I ever got around to pairing her off with anyone)

Stargate SG-1 – While I did occasionally read some other pairings, the only pairing I had any interest in writing was Jack/Daniel. I liked playing with the team dynamic so I enjoyed a lot of friendship stuff with Sam and Teal'c as well, but actual pairing? Definitely Jack/Daniel all the way.

Star Wars – My main pairing I wrote in stuff I've posted so far is of course Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan. Han/Leia was a very formative pairing for me back when I was a teenager and writing only for myself (and occasionally friends) so they would count too. I'm not sure if I can count an OC/OC pairing from a series written in the fandom, but if so Rilka/Jess would definitely count. If not, I think I'd go with Hera/Kanan for the third. I'm just starting to play around with these characters but I already love how their dynamic works and I think they're going to be a lot of fun.

Houston Knights – Again, this is a one pairing fandom for me. Joe/Levon, whether there be centaurs involved or not. We did have glimmerings of perhaps another, future pairing between OCs but I think that ended up being more theoretical than anything else.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel the Series – Now finally a fandom (or pair of fandoms) I don't have to strain to come up with multiple pairings I love to write. First and foremost, Giles/Ethan will forever be my OTP in the fandom. I also grew to love writing Wes/Angel, and I liked the dynamics of Wes/Gunn as well. And I'm going to cheat and also mention two others because Doyle/Cordy/Angel was something I wished I got around to writing more of, and writing Gunn/Gwen was the incredible surprise pairing that I had way too much fun with. So um, yeah, this is definitely the multiple pairing fandom for me.

Nightrunner – Again, it's all about Seregil/Alec for me. There's a few other pairings in the background, but if it wasn't for Seregil/Alec I wouldn't be writing in this fandom at all.

X-Men – This is another one I can probably actually come up with three options. Or more, really. (Like BtVS/AtS it's a big ensembley 'verse with many characters that are fun to mix and match) Charles/Erik is probably the biggest slash one. I also loved writing Kitty Pryde/Pete Wisdom (and I'm sad that I've lost track of that unfinished fic I had with them because at least in my memory it was really good). Kurt Wagner/Amanda Sefton I wrote some of back when I was in high school, again not that anyone ever saw, but still. I also, when they brought Kurt back recently in the comics realized as I was reading them, that given a chance I would probably have a ball writing Kurt/Logan if I ever sat down and did so.

Lord of the Rings – I only wrote Aragorn/Legalos in this fandom.

Real Ghostbusters – I... don't actually even remember the pairing in the fic now.

Supernatural – Another fandom that I was in long enough to have multiple pairings. Sam/Dean of course was what started it all and got me into the fandom in the first place. I grew quite fond of Dean/Castiel as well, and Sam/Gabriel, while not as obvious in the text turned out to be a helluva lot of fun to write. (And my most popular fic on AO3 by a huge margin is a Sam/Gabriel thing I wrote with Omphalos). Also any combination of those four is fun to play with.

Avengers – I've only posted one fic and the pairing in that was edging towards Tony/Bruce. I have some unfinished stuff with Tony/Pepper that was a lot of fun to play with, and another unfinished seriously cracked mashup of various comic realities that was heading in a Steve/Tony direction. So... I basically like pairings that have Tony in them I guess?

Teen Wolf – For me if I have to pick a OTP in this fandom it's Scott/Stiles. I've dabbled a little in Stiles/Derek and I liked the dynamics that was happening between them, but the fandom has come close to ruining that pairing for me. Not completely, but still. I wrote a short little Stiles/Malia piece and that was fun too. I haven't written any yet but I also think Derek/Braeden would be lots of fun. But mainly Scott/Stiles and packfic.

Dragon Age – Well Hawke/Anders is always fun. There was some Anders/Hawke/Fenris in a fic that is never going to be finished and posted because it went seriously off the rails but they had some interesting dynamics. The surprise of the current long fic Omphalos and I are working on is Dorian/Fenris which really shouldn't work, but it somehow does and oh my god are they fun to write together. I haven't actually sat down and wrote any Dorian/Iron Bull yet, but I think I'd really enjoy them too.
