Wilderness not so good for wildlife diversity?

That’s the conclusion of a forest products guy from Pennsylvania’s Forest County regarding the notion of more wilderness on the Allegheny National Forest.

Wait a second. Only 2 percent of the Allegheny is designated wilderness now. Most of the 500,000-acre national forest is a pin cushion of oil and gas well heads. And that’s good for wildlife? Read Doug Carlson’s comments in this article by Ben Moyer of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette then shake your head in wonderment. Carlson doesn’t really care about wildlife. He just wants more timbering opportunities.
