When buildings take migratory birds from the sky

While working the day shift at the daily newspaper in Hazleton, Pa., I once wandered down the Broad Street sidewalk while on break and found, at my feet, a window-killed Wood Thrush. OK, that was just one bird. But as this article makes note, the death toll across more than one city is tremendous. Add buildings to the human-caused blockages to wild, migratory birds.
