I have never had an issue with my site and pinterest, suddenly i’m being told I will be removed from the verified merchant program due to my conversions API not tracking several things.
    Customer Information
User Agent – Page Visit, Add to cart
    Email – Add to Cart
External ID – Add to Cart, Page Visit, Search, View Category
Click ID – Add to Cart, Page Visit, Search, View Category

    Event Insights
Source URL – Add to Cart

I did run into the fact my site and pinterest were not connected anymore, but I got that relinked almost a month ago when this first started freaking out at me. That, however, did not fix this conversion api issue that Pinterest is still saying if I do not fix by May 30th I am out of the program. I literally have no idea what to fix here. I’ve only ever used this plugin.

I have sent an email to Pinterest, but I doubt I will get anywhere there. So I hope someone here can help me.

    Hi @cpyles,

Thanks for reaching out on the Pinterest for WooCommerce forum. I understand how stressful it must be to suddenly face the risk of losing Verified Merchant status, especially when you haven’t made any recent changes to your setup. You’ve done the right thing by reconnecting your Pinterest account, but I can see this Conversion API issue still persists, which definitely deserves a closer look.

To better understand what’s going on, could you let us know when exactly this issue started? Was it after a recent plugin update, either to WooCommerce, the Pinterest for WooCommerce plugin, or something else on your site?

You mentioned your site was disconnected at one point—was the Conversions API issue already present at that time, or did it begin after reconnecting your Pinterest account?

To get a clearer picture, please share a screenshot of your Pinterest plugin’s Connection page. If you don’t already have a screenshot tool, you can easily use https://snipboard.io to upload and share the image with us.

In the meantime, I recommend trying a full reconnection process by:

    1. Logging in to your Pinterest Business account and going to Settings > Claimed accounts.
    2. Unclaim your website domain.
    3. Go back to your site and disconnect the Pinterest account from the Connection tab in the plugin settings.
    4. Then, run through the setup process again from scratch to re-link and re-verify everything.

Also, if you can, please share your System Status Report from WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support, and any recent fatal error logs under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. You can paste these at https://pastebin.com or https://quickforget.com and share the link here.

Once we have those details, we’ll be better positioned to guide you through fixing the missing Conversion API parameters.

Looking forward to your reply so we can get this sorted out before May 30!

I have no idea when it disconnected, and no idea when this all started. I wasn’t aware of an issue until I got an email from Pinterest stating I had 30 days to sort this issue out. I am not super active on my site, as I do not get lots of orders, so I only go on once a month or so to update plugins and such, if needed, as my site auto updates usually on its own.
Here is the screenshot of my connections page https://snipboard.io/nk2lJD.jpg

I will go do the rest of your suggestions now.

Pinterest wrote back stating the following and of course pointed me here, which I was already on it.

Thanks for reaching out to the Pinterest Support Team. I understand that you need assistance in fixing the conversion health requirement for the Verified Merchant Program (VMP)—I’m here to help.

The reason you’ve received the Conversion source needs attention warning message is because you haven’t met these conversion source requirements:

    • Checkout conversion event implemented
    • Checkout currency passed back

Since you’re using the WooCommerce-integrated tag, the base and event codes are automatically installed on the website to track conversions in Ads Manager. In this case, it’s suggested to ensure the checkout event is firing as expected. To help you do this, you can refer to the suggested practices below:

    • Make a test purchase. To validate the test purchase in real time, you can install the Pinterest Tag Helper Chrome extension. For context, this’ll help verify if the checkout event is passing back data. Moreover, a successful test checkout will be reflected on the Events overview page.
    • If the checkout event doesn’t fire, it’s recommended to reach out to the WooCommerce Support Team via this link. Before doing so, kindly gather the details below as these will help them solve the issue quicker:
       1. Check or make sure plugin is up to date for both WooCommerce and Pinterest for WooCommerce.2. Specify which Pinterest Tag event isn’t firing. For example, if it’s the add to cart or checkout event. 3. Domain URLs of your store.4. Pinterest username/email.5. Screenshot of your Pinterest for WooCommerce plugin home page.6. Make sure enable ‘Debug Logging’. Go to Marketing > Pinterest > Settings > Scroll down to Debug Logging > Check Enable Debug Logging.

Once the checkout event and the currency event data is detected, updates to your verified merchant status will take up to 48 hours to show on Business hub. You can also read through this article about the requirements of the VMP.

I have completed the disconnecting and reconnecting fully. I do see from Pinterest’s email it can take 48 hrs to see changes on their side. So hopefully that fixes things.

    Hello cpyles,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand that you’ve followed the steps provided by Pinterest support and are now waiting for the 48 hours for the changes to take effect.

If the issue continues after that time, I recommend temporarily disabling any SEO, caching, and security plugins on your site and then trying again. These types of plugins can sometimes interfere with how Pinterest reads data from your website.

Please feel free to reach out if you need help with this or have any other questions!

    Best regards.

Well, I was following the steps posted by LovingBro above. I will say utilizing the Pinterest Tag Help Chrome Extension. My site seems to behaving. Just waiting to see those results on Pinterest directly.

    Hi @cpyles,

    Thanks for the update!

It’s great to hear that things are looking good on your site using the Pinterest Tag Helper. It can sometimes take a bit of time for Pinterest to reflect the tracking data, so you’re on the right track by giving it a little time.

If you don’t see any events showing up in your Pinterest Ads Manager after a day or so, feel free to check in with us again. Happy to help if anything else comes up!

And if you’ve found Pinterest for WooCommerce helpful so far, we’d really appreciate it if you could leave us a quick review: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/pinterest-for-woocommerce/reviews/

Well all the steps I took seem to have broke something else. No improvements on the pinterest side even with their chorme extension showing no issues.

Here is the new issue showing on the business hub https://snipboard.io/84HrvA.jpg

    Hi @cpyles,

Thank you for your response and for sharing the screenshot. I understand how frustrating it can be to encounter another notice while trying to resolve the issue. Please be assured that we are here to help you.

To better diagnose the problem, could you please run the Pinterest helper tag tool again and share a screenshot of the results?

Additionally, try disconnecting your site from Pinterest, clear both your site and browser caches, log out of Pinterest, then log back in and reconnect your site. Let me know how this works out.

I look forward to your reply.

@mosesmedh Ok, here are the screenshots from different steps around my site. I made a note for each step. https://snipboard.io/Fo2uAV.jpg

Disconnecting was what I asked to do the other day. Which I did. This is the result of doing that. But I was considering wiping it all out again myself.

    (@cpyles)

WELL, due to a server issue, my site will be returning to its state it was May 23rd. So I will be back to square one. I had created a completely new ad account in my pinterest account. along with a brand new pinterest tag. It was seemingly seeing traffic. And then I had the infinite wisdom to install server udpates and it wiped my databases out. So thank you for trying to help me beat the clock. I asked Pinterest for extra time. But lord knows. I’m tired and incredibly stressed and hope my sever snapshot actually does restore everything.

    Hi @cpyles ,

Thanks so much for sharing what’s going on, that sounds incredibly frustrating, and I can completely understand how stressful it must be to deal with data loss and tight deadlines all at once.

If your server snapshot restores everything successfully, your Pinterest tag setup should also return to its previous state.

I hope the restoration goes smoothly, and we’re here if you need anything along the way.

Take care and hang in there!

So I got my site all put back together and returned to where we were at. Pinterest clearly didn’t read my email pleaing with them to give me an extension, so I currently am no longer verified. But I guess whatever. I have requested them to delete the old ad account, on my pinterest account and created a new one. Here is how that one is performing.
From what I gather, they are wanting metrics on my users that I do not have unless they actually purchase. I do not force people to create an account to shop with me. But they are wanting the user email address from the moment they come on my site from the looks of it.
Also still looking for an “External ID” and “Click ID” for Add to Cart, Page Visit and View Category. These are things the plugin should be handling correct? I do not think I have any control over any of that, anywhere else in woocommerce or my theme. Which is the basic Storefront Theme.
Here is the screenshot of the new ad account event quality report. https://snipboard.io/dUOqib.jpg

Until Pinterest deletes the old ad account I think they will continue to tell me I have problems though, as in Business Hub the VMP needs attention notice at the top brings me to the old one. They say I can not delete it, so I sure hope they can.
