Hello and thank you for reaching out,
The updated version of the plugin requires PHP 8.1, so the plugin wouldn’t run on your version of PHP.
Is there a possibility of updating the version of PHP on your server?
Kind regards,
Marija
Hello,
Thank you for your response,
No, it is not possible to update the PHP version on our server because it might conflict with other sites. Is there any way to fix this issue?

Hello,
Our recommendation is to keep using the older version of the plugin as you cannot upgrade PHP to a newer version.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Kind regards,
Marija
Hello,
If we maintain the same plugin version on our site, will it affect any site functionality in the future?
Thank you

Hello, we cannot make such guarantees but the previous experience with different versions has been positive.
I will mark this topic as closed but please feel free to follow up if you have any questions.
Best,
Marko
Looking at the plugin’s active versions, only 42.7% have upgraded to the latest version in the past four months. This tells me that the majority of your users do not have PHP version 8.1 or higher.
I recommend that you help me and the 57.3% of your users who do not have PHP version 8.1 or higher.
It is more efficient for you to make the plugin compatible with PHP version 7.4 than it is for over 250,000 users to update their website code, themes, plugins, etc.

Hello Daniel, and thank you for reaching out with your analysis.
The PHP version was updated to ensure newer features, as well as higher security. Additionally, it is a requirement for the system which allows interoperability with the Facebook APIs.
The core team is aware that this poses a problem but we cannot say if support for PHP 7.4 will be restored.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Kind regards,
Marija
