Adam works at State Street and is currently Global Head of Talent Acquisition for the Institutional Services division and SSGA (our asset manager), as well as acting as the Country Head of HR for the Netherlands. He joined State Street in 2016 as EMEA Head of Executive Recruitment. With almost 20 years as a Human Resources professional, he is a strategic advisor to internal clients while managing a global team of Recruiters and HR administrators. Adam started his career at a boutique search firm before working several years for Alexander Mann Solutions, onsite with clients like Credit Suisse, Citigroup and Ashmore Investment Management. Adam was running EMEA Talent Acquisition for Goldman Sachs Investment Management Division prior to joining State Street in 2016. He holds a BA in Economics and HR, and an MA in Management. Adam is Secretary of the UKPride Committee.

An ex US Air Force Staff Sergeant, I was investigated and kicked out of the military after being 'outed' in 2005, under the US's Don't Ask, Don't Tell Policy. I was stationed in the UK at the time and stayed here, eventually marrying my British wife and obtaining British Citizenship for myself. These days, I love to keep busy! In my day job I focus on leading a number of critical workplace experience programmes for Santander, working to ensure that our working environments are as frictionless and value add as possible. I dedicate a lot of time to volunteering, both in and outside of Santander. I focus on ensuring I am vocal about the needs of the entire LGBTQ+ community, and use my platforms to raise awareness of those parts of the community that need it most - these days that feels like my trans, non binary and ethnic minority siblings who day in and day out are facing far more hurdles than white cisgendered LGB communities are, and we're already facing a lot! I also Chair Santander's LGBTQ+ Employee Network, growing it from c. 400 people to nearly 3000 people across the UK, and creating the 'Embrace' blueprint used in our other country groups. I chaired the Board of Trustees at Q:alliance (a Milton Keynes based LGBTQ+ focused registered charity), and I work with various local community organisations to represent the LGBTQ+ community and ensure our voices are heard and considered wherever decisions are made. With what spare time I have left sometimes I narrate wlw fiction audiobooks on Audible, Amazon & iTunes, because there simply wasn't enough representation in this area when I was growing up and I want to help change that! Lucky for me I have a very understanding, and VERY supportive wife. Gardening and gaming are my 'wind down' hobbies that keep me sane, and my menagerie of animals insist on keeping me grounded. You can't feel too fancy when you're cleaning up dog mess in the garden! I'm always happy to help people and pass on whatever life wisdom I may have gained so far on this rock. I'm also very keen to listen to and learn from other people's stories. We aren't equal until we're ALL equal.
