When flute meets piano

I once realised that I shouldn't take things for granted, I should appreciate the things I have right now. Recently, my friends and I went to pancake house before hitting the club. When we were chatting, one of the waitresses leaded a blind man to his seat. He was alone. Once settled down, he ordered a cup of black coffee. Just when he wanted to take his first sip, the beautiful melody of piano is heard. He then played the flute alongside the piano. They worked together spontaneously, without rehearsals. The taste of original.

The music he played touched my heart. Seriously. I believe you'll be touched if you were there. You'll be amazed by his talent. He can sing and play music although he can't see. He played with his heart. He sang with his heart. If only he can see. That was what I think at that time. But, if he does, will he be the same again? We clapped when he finished. Signs of telling him not giving up hope. We shouldn't take things for granted. We should be blessed of what we have right now.

Dreaming Out Loud

I am happy today. I submitted the Language assignment (honestly, I struggled for all the assignments throughout the semester, but I'm glad I did not too bad) to my lecturer with Miranda together. Suddenly another lecturer, Angela (um, she is another tutor but gives lecture together with my lecturer) came in cause apparently, she's been away from Uni for one month for conferences (I envy) so she kinda misses us. Haha. Anyways, she came in and Jonathan (my lecturer, he's a Dr. wey) told her that we're graduating this August and she was so surprised. Haha.I mean, she told us don't stop studying. We should be continuing.

Then, our conversation on assignment shifted to "future". Lol. They suggested Miranda and I to continue with Honours programme then apply the scholarship to do Phd. They added that they can help us if we need their help. Haha. They're the nicest lecturers le, really! Angela even said she could help me in getting contacts from the Malaysian side. I must have been a great student in the class eh? Lol! I kidding!

I like the feeling of being praised. No, I'm not showing off but the feeling is just unexplainable. Great! Honestly, I'm kind of "tired" with Uni's life. Haha. But on the other hand, I want to continue with it. Um, need to discuss with my family first.

the end = the beginning

Feb 2009

Cyrus : Miranda, this is just the first week. Sigh. Can't wait for mid sem break =(
Miranda : Yes Cyrus, so many weeks to go =(

April 2009

Cyrus: Umi (I call Miranda by Umi), the mid sem break is here! Ahah, I'm off the Melbourne =)
Miranda : But we still have many weeks left =( Tonnes of assignemnts!
Cyrus : Oh yea. Stressed lah Miranda! Very stressed!

June 2009

Cyrus : Week 12 already Umi, final week. So fast eh?
Miranda: Yes, time flies.
Cyrus : Remember how we used to rant during the first few weeks?

It's so fast. Scarily fast. This semester is a challenging one. Put the environment changed aside, the total of work I need to complete is huge. Feeling stressed. But still need to go on with it, I don't really have a choice, do I? I'll not complain though, because this is what I've chosen. This is why I am here, I am determined =) Finally it's coming to an end. Four years of tertiary studies, countless of assignments and presentations. Stresses too They're all for good. I learned alot. I gained alot.

The big question is, where do I go next? Continuing Masters? I wish, I mean I'd love to have a Bachelor (Honours) but it's abit too late. Masters? It's way too expensive for now. So, work is the next possible choice. Gosh, hate working life! It needs so much commitment and I can't really have my own lil' sweet time. I'll be tied up with work, work, and work!

Working in Singapore is always one of my considerations cause I have relatives there, so the transition would be easier. Haha. My aunty is so happy when I told her my plan. She sounded so welcoming. Haha. So yea, Singapore. But I'd love to stay in KL too. I heart KL! I've to start everything again from scratch if I go to Singapore. Oh, since I'll be going to Hong Kong in December for probably two weeks, I'll try looking for a job too. As much as I heart KL, why must I limit myself to Malaysia only right? I'm still young, this is the perfect time where I explore new things. To gain more exposure, to gain more knowledge. I believe I can take another challenge. I'm determined (Teo, 2006). =)

Yea, now it's down to two assignments and a written exam (for my Japanese). Hopefully, I won't screw up in my last few assignments. Wish me luck in getting Ds and maybe HDs for this semester =)
