YES Fund FY 25-26 Allocations
WRJ Awards $335K to Raise Jewish Feminist Voices Worldwide

Through its philanthropic arm, the YES (Youth, Education, and Special Projects) Fund, Women of Reform Judaism awarded over $335,000 in grants to 34 programs that will encourage the growth of individuals as Jewish trailblazers and the advancement of Reform Movement institutions.

January 26, 2026 - A painful chapter for the Jewish people finally comes to a close. For 843 days, we took to the streets and demanded: bring all the hostages home, now! Women of Reform Judaism holds the family of Ran Gvili close in our hearts as his remains soon arrive in Israel for a proper burial. WRJ CEO Rabbi Liz P.G. Hirsch reflected, “These years are marked by the resilience and advocacy of ordinary people who never ceased to demand that all of our sisters and brothers come home.”

January 22, 2026 - Today, we recognize what would have been the 53rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court case that made abortion legal throughout the US. Banning potentially lifesaving medical procedures & interfering with a doctor’s decision-making runs contrary to the Jewish commandment to protect life. WRJ stands strong in our commitment to oppose and fight against restrictions that limit access to birth control and safe abortion practices. You can add to this legacy by taking part in WRJ’s Day of Action on April 12.

November 20, 2025 - On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we celebrate the lives of those who have died in transphobic attacks. In their honor, we commit to pursuing a world free of transphobia and intolerance, where people of all genders can live boldly and freely. May their memories be for a blessing.

November 12, 2025 - Birth control is health care. It’s safety, opportunity, and choice—and it’s under attack. Since 1935, WRJ has advocated for safe and informed access to birth control. This #ThxBirthControl Day, WRJ continues the fight against misinformation and to uplift the truth: contraception changes lives!

 

November 10, 2025 - On November 7, the Supreme Court considered a challenge to marriage equality during their private conference and ultimately decided not to move forward with reviewing the case. WRJ commends the Supreme Court for this decision and for upholding Obergefell v. Hodges. In 1965, WRJ was the first Jewish organization to call for the decriminalization of homosexuality. Moreover, in 1997, WRJ passed a resolution calling for members to advocate for legislation that would legalize same-sex marriage. We will continue to fight for equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community.
 

November 4, 2025 - Our voices are stronger together. Today, as people in the US exercise their right to vote and those in Canada wrap up municipal elections, we are reminded of WRJ’s legacy. As we have affirmed for decades, we must participate in our electoral process to fulfill our tradition to seek & pursue justice.
