Met her for the first time!
Johnny, Red and Dave were all there as well. On a calm september night lit by street lamps..
Still don't know her name yet tho.

Post Menembak
PIC - 'How to be a suicide bomber...'
Just back from a weekend of thinking... More or less identifying weaknesses and points to improve and just clarifying abit more in my head. Although a good bit of the thinking was done on the ranges of a shooting competition. The irony...
Didn't win anything but theres always room for improvement and generally, I need to extend my attention span on stuff I do, especially anything that would be beneficial to be good at. The debate is whether I have a poor memory to remember things well enough or I've somesort reached my memory limit of things to learn and keep in mind like theres literally a 101 things one can learn about the know hows (ranging from sailing to how to calculate the number of theoretical stages required in a distillation column to parachuting, etc...) to actually remember them is the problem. Shooting was horrendous, lost the touch with the rifle after more than a year away from the ranges. Anywho..
Gas Mask does come in handy!! in a BBQ....
Exams this coming friday, Biochem as the first paper followed by Heat and Mass then Loss Prevention finishing on the 26th. At least I'll get 2 weeks to do nothing at all between my exams and summer camp, then 2 days back from camp, straight home to Malaysia with the boys! Can't wait.. It'll be amazing. Although got an email from my mum dissuading us to travel through Bangkok in the wake of the recent violence there... Raaage. Looks like a Plan B is in need..
Kinda realising I'm reaching the stage where I'm looking to settle down abit with a 'partner' (which at this point refers to a gf.) Although living the carefree single life, the longing to have someone to share thoughts and experiences with slowly creeps up. Not saying that finding a person with a similar interest (and actually understands what you're doing/trying to acheive/acheived) is in anyway easy! And I have to admit, theres been no shortage of 'wrong time, wrong place' interesting people I've met along the way. Daaaamn... Its probably written somewhere that you'll meet someone someday, but just not yet and you've just haven't met her yet! So to all the single readers, Banzai!!

Work work work...
Completed the marathon - 4 hours and 21 mins.Happy with that althought I'm 30 mins behind Red. But done and dusted anyways, lesson learnt : always train for a marathon. First 20 miles done in 3 hours at a constant speed but hell, the last 6 miles took me an hour 20 mins to finish... 'the wall' some people call it at the 20mile mark.
Some pictures available online PLUS a video of every contestant crossing the finish line.. then again, I'm definitely NOT paying 10 quid for a picture of myself..

Quickie
20 days left before my first paper. 21st, 22nd and the 26th. For once we chemical engineers finish early man. Every year before this we're one of the last ones to finish, justice...
Made a snap decision to do the Belfast Marathon on monday, the whole 26.8miles! If theres a list of rashest snap decisions I ever made, this is definitely up there..
Do a marathon with no training before hand... Only my meagre 8 miles per week I've set myself to do. Guess I'm not walking on tuesday then! Mind over matter!! mind over maaatter...
Other than that, nothing much going on as priorities are now placed on revision and the physical aspect. Can't wait to get home.. can't wait for the exams to be over to sit around and say I've nothing to do... :D

Post Exams.
A post exam review of stuff so far....
All four paper done and dusted fingers crossed passed all of them. Looks like a busy February ahead. Probably March as well will the varsities looming ahead plus Queens is hosting it this year.
Aside from that, got a new housemate! Matt,a 3rd year from geography. He's moving in for a semester only but still!, that shaves off £45 from my rent man..
Thing about post-exam period, theres this annoying lull from my daily exam routine since over a month ago. Then again sure beats having exams man..
Away to England this sunday till friday. Weee... get to skip class for a week. 1st week of the 2nd sem shouldn't be nothing too heavy anyways.
Just found out last night that 3/4 of my february weekends are already taken up before February starts! Well, at least I'm getting paid... Thinking of getting new shoes man.
Flight home on the 29th of June! Can't wait... This time bringing a bunch of 'ang moh lang' with me to see the far east as we travel across indochina. "Ex-Seabiscuit" lol. Few days at home and then I'm off to Bangkok, Siem Reap, Phnomh Penh, Saigon and Hanoi. Accomadating 8 guys in my tiny Subang home would be a slight problem tho... (to be solved)
Planning to try and run for the Student Union Sabbatical Officer post as well in March. The Equality and Diversity post to be specific. Would be interesting I'd say but time to widen the social circle even more!
Over and out.

When you come to think about it...
If a key opens many locks, its a MASTERKEY.
If a lock that is opened by too many keys its a SHIT lock.
Hows that for sexism?

Insomia Mark 2.
Into 2010 now. Every year holds even more challenges and new prospects. One of the new year's resolution this time was to totally disarm the old on-going conflict I had with a housemate of mine. Total peace treaty bottom line. Quoting the ancient book;
"In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry"
Decided to start the year minus any old grudges. Learning curve in life = to improve and mature all the time from bad experiences.
2009 was good to me. Can't help but wonder every birthday that goes by seems more and more awesome.. lol. Its goina be potong stim trying to live up to the previous ones man..
Can't sleep at all last night. Guess the thought of this summer triggered some adrenelin-related hormones after receiving my itinerary from STA travel. Exercise S.E.A-Biscuit is underway! Funny tho, the emailed was sent at like 3am in the morning. Well, kinda broke into the day with news of churches being torched back home in KL as well. Not a pleasant thought at all. Where is the tolerance man... Also realised that slowly the seeds of hatred slowly took root in me. No room for this anymore. Violence is not always the solution.
Out to run a few errands today, fix my exam timetable, get notes off Nurul, top up the gas at home, and swing by the library to do work to top it off.
Haven't had that nice warm feeling of content in a while...
