Asteroid Please! is an irreverent Colorado indie band, driving a fresh acoustic rock sound with jam, alt and funk undertones. They're also a wanna-be cult, singing for THE GREAT ASTEROID's return, because, well... humans sort of deserve it. On the music front, individually and collectively, AP!'s musicians have played with countless nationally recognized artists at top venues like Shoreline Amphitheater (CA), The Woodlands (TX), Sweetwater (CA), and our hometown Boulder Theater (CO). Their music has been featured on hit shows like One Tree Hill and Summerland, and they've written custom tracks for everyone from Warner Brothers to USA Fencing.
AP!'s recently released EP, The Age of Big Stupid, was mixed by Grammy Award-winning Colorado producer and engineer, Steve Vidaic and features the musical powerhouses (and longtime music friends), Matthew Burks (vocals, backing Vox, rhythm guitar, and keys), Tim Kingsbury (bass), Brian McRae (drums), Jordan Feinstein (keys/organ), as well as Eliot Bishop, Blake Schaefer, and Nathaniel Carroll (guest lead guitars).
What's New:
- Roots Music Project "On The Rise" Colorado Compilation Album - Roots Music Project selected Asteroid Please! as one of eleven "On The Rise" Colorado bands for their 2025 compilation album. It was a huge honor to be included with local buzz worthy headliners like The Galantines, 2MX2, Bear Hat, Old Man Saxon, and many others. AP!'s "Wander In My Dreams" is track #3 on the album. The Roots "On The Rise" Album Launch Party is happening on Feb. 28th @ Roots with Asteroid Please! & Bear Hat co-headlining (additional details below)!
- Roots Music Festival 2025 Live Video - AP! just released video from their recent Roots Music Festival 2025 show on YouTube. Video was filmed and edited by the multi-talented Colorado artist and musician Blessings Chimanaga, and features Matthew Burks (vocals & rhythm guitar), Caton Sollenberger (lead guitar), Brian McRae (drums), Brian Whitten (keys & backing vocals), and Tim Kingsbury (bass). The AP! community filled the room and drank a few too many with the band after the show.
